IHi, I just got JTL today... and while I enjoy the combat... I dont really understand the leveling system. I have plenty of xp to move up, but the trainer wont offer it to me. He keeps telling me to go do a mission that I fail every time. I think it is only the second one.... and i have to kill what seems to be an infinite number of ships. It tells me there are 3 more, I kill them... 4 new ones show up.. i kill them all untill it says hostlity has ceased... but then more ships show up. Am I doing something wrong, or do they honestly think i should protect this freighter from from 100 enemies on the second mission of the game... with the noob ship and equipment?

To level in space, you must finish the missiongiven to you by the trainer. If you finish the missionbut do not have enough xp for training, your trainer will give you a duty mission to get xp. But duty missions are not requried asyou can grind out the xp yourself byhunting in space.

Anyways, you must be doing something wrong as Tier 1 missions aren't supposed to be that hard. What exactly is the mission that you're on?

What faction are you in Space? Im under the expression that the NPC Skycs and Z95 got replaced with the advanced ones after ROTW, so if you are neutral or fighting for the Empire this might be the reason why you have problems completing the mission.

Well the escort missions are a pain, I'd suggest you go to a bazaar and buy up a ship chassis, you didnt mention which faction you belong to but regardless Light Tie, Z95, or Scyk shouldnt cost more than 5k, then either load up with some decent lvl 1 or 2 parts (if you have the qualifications) thennone of the tier1 missions will be aproblem. Just rememberto say fairly close to the freighteriftheattacking shipsdraw you too far fromthefreighter, you'll fail.

I am a privateer, taking missions from the guy in the back of the mos eisley cantina. The mission I was having problems with was the net to the last one before I could level for the first time. I abandoned the mission and went back to take it agin... This time they only spawned about six sets of ships, and it was done in 10 minutes without the freighter taking any damage.

Another thing that is confusing me... can you not take a mission fro a group in space? I have tried grouping with my brother, but we still have to do each mission twice.

Yes, even though you're grouped you each have to complete the mission. SInce you're grouped you can help each other, but you both still have the mission that needs to be completed.
