Seeing as all Multi-Passanger ships have 5 mil mass, that could not possibly be filled up, why not let Multi-Passanger ships use 2 of everything? (except engines + ordance and boosters).
For Instance, when you look at the turrets, they have 4 cannons In the one turret, my first Impressions were that you could have 2 weapons per turret. Why not add this? make the Multi-Passanger ship actually useful! (as It Is almost Impossible to hit anything while gunning one). B-wings have 4 weapon slots, why not Multi-Passangerships? also, as this would drain like hell, let em use 2 Capacitors perhaps?
Also you could do the same with sheilds, give them a secondary sheild like the corvette! now Multi-Passanger ships wouldnt be so much, sitting ducks, and perhaps a double re-inforcement of Armor? 2 front, 2 back? (or maybe 4 Armor panelsIs going a bit over the top...)
And reactors, give em lots of spare juice for things like engine overload, weapon overload etc. If this was Implemented, I can see good use of Multi-Passanger ships, as nobody on my server uses them really, and there are Ace's everywhere.

With 5 million mass, who cares? 
I have 4.5 damage cannons on each turret. Why would I need more firepower???

I would be great if each turret drew from a seperate capacitor.

I mean, yeah, I'm only using less than 500K of the 5 mil mass on my VT, and the other 4.5mil are going to waste. However, if they're ever gonna change anything to ships again, please make the changes retroactive, cause I do not want to pay 900K again for a new chassis. I heard someone even paid 1.5 mil for Nova.

agree. the multiships should have more armor than the normal fighters. double slots would be nice. of course i did loot a 15kHP armor peice... so that's definitely going into the back armor slot on my decimator.

I'm a bit more interested in what's really up with that 5 million mass issue. When beta started, they were supposed to be 500k, and I haven't seen a single official post saying either 'oh yeah, we forgot to tell you - they're 10x bigger now' or 'uhm, someone put a decimal point in the wrong place, we'll correct it'.

kessel, off a tier 5 b-wing. i couldn't believe it, thought for sure they put the point in the wrong spot... but i guess if you can get 50k reactors and 8k weps then a 15k armor isn't that far fetched.

I agree with the majority there should be at least 2 capacitors and make use of 2 reactors,
BUTplease add another pilot driven front based weapon, so that one can pilot solo and protect themselves as well and use it as their primary craft.
I wanna be able to use my ship so much that everyone will remember the name of the YT-1300 that ripped them a new one.

An alternative solution is introduce MP ship only componets like 20K shield, 50 reactor etc, carrying mass in the hundreds of K range.
