Well i dont post many threads, but I've recently had some thoughts about JTL and the lack of PvP (at least I dont see much anyway) going on up there in the great black sea.
Now when JTL came out everyone was wearing the new uniforms and titles and quite alot of people dare i say it enjoyed it.
Nowadays not that many people are too interested. All the Player events if any are held on ground, all the dungeons (geno's, DWB, corvette)are also on ground. (yes your in space on the vette dont say it)
Ok so here's an idea I have, as we all know alot of PvP or GCW was centered around player faction bases. Now I joined the Imperial pilot so I could basically advance through it, eventually hit master and hopefully start using it in PvP and taking on high tier ships for some sweet loot etc etc etc
Now Not too long ago I went into kessel with a few buddies and did not see V.much going on.
The Idea
Ok now, this would split Kessel into 2 halves, and there would be 2 seprate space stations to access it with, an imperial and a rebel space station. Now like with normal bases that you aquire from a recuiter, these 'space stations' would be aquired the same way, except they cost fp and prestiege to prove you are a pilot worthy of defending them (Gun turrets also avail this way to pop on your base) now to drop the bases there would be say 10 ceartain spots that would be allowed, you placed them by speaking to the imperial space station in kessel and it automatically places it in the select points (note that with this method it may encourage the dev's to put more PvP related space sectores, or at least make kessel bigger. Like normal bases your space stations would go vul for a ceartain 2 hrs, now on an attack, the rebels must infiltrate the space stations by docking with, and like normal if imperials were still around they could easily just shoot them off from docking, so shall we say the rebels have sucessfully defeated the imerpals in space they would load into the base and there would be a space term at the top. this is the part where its exactly like a normal raid, except the stations were quite a bit bigger, it would be full of npc's and players already docked in and ready to guard ceartain terminals that require ceartain professions to destroy them
Adroid engineer to sucessfully disbale any and all droid interfaces
Then our old friend the smuggler would hack down the security systems
Then maybe a shipwright to just basically disable the the thing and get ready to blow.
Ok so the imperials come in and there not very happy about there station getting blew tut tut naughty rebs
So like with the normal bases they have the ability to stop this at one of the main computer rooms which is what the rebels would have to hold for 10 mins, as soon as it is up, the rebels would automatically be ejected into there ships and back to the kessel rebel station to be awarded with some fp and to make it more desirable to destory each other a badge ....Has sucessfully destroyed an Imperal Space Station
vice versa for other faction
Note that you would have to be in the same group as the hack team to recieve your reward
The failing faction would just simply be yelled at by an npc and lose some fp
Ok so i have not forgot about the Freelance Pilots, there faction would be based entirely on group, and once they enter theimperial station with rebels they are made an overt reb troughout the period
Now as soon as the vul time is up and the rebs are still inside trying everyone ejected to there Kessel faction station, failing- no loss basically npc says better luck next time
defending sucessfully- no bade but plenty of faction to go around
So please post back on what you think, i dont post much like this so be nice

This is an excellent idea, I'd like to elaborate, but you have said everything. =)

Very nice idea. The space game is the only part of SWG that I actually play; I don't want to be bothered with ground play which I absolutely abhor.
