Hi
Im going to start JTL soon. I want to be a rebel pilot and fly an x-wing. Is an x-winggood todo higher tier missions or should I look at other ships?
Thanks

You can only fly an X-Wing when you get to 3/2/2/2 Rebel Pilot, you'll have to use other ships before you get there.
I still use my X-wing rather than the A-wing that you get at 4/3/3/3.

You start off with a Z-95 noob ship (looks like a X-Wing with single wings). then the Y-Wing (with a turret position) then the Y-Wing *Longprobe*, then the X-Wing, then the A-Wing and finally the B-Wing and Multiperson Ship (Nova).
Y-Wings are Bombers, so they`re rather sow in pitch/yaw and roll. As is the B-Wing.
the X-Wing is the Best Allroundship imho. The A-Wing is the fastest and most agile ship, but can only hold a single weapon.
So in the end (once ur mastered) you`ll be most likely using X-Wing/B-Wing/Nova as ur ships.
(Not taking the Firespray into concideration here, since it`s not so easy getting one and if then it´s expensive).

X-Wing - good PvE ship.
A-Wing - REQUIRED for Rebel PvPing, IMO. Everyone I've gone up against using anything else went home in a box.
Also, some people seem to think you HAVE to mount more than one weapon when you get the opportunity. If your gunnery skills are up to par, just mount a single high damage projectile weapon and use the rest of the space for armor, heavy shields, the best engine you can fit, and high-performance equipment.
Missiles drive me nuts with the constant bleeping/blooping/chirping.

SWs normally charge by the CPU of the materials used plus a small premium to etch a semblance of profitability. Ships made with the best spawned materials can cost far more for a little better stats than a ship made with grind/good-quality materials.
Shop around. I can't tell you what the ships would cost because it seems to vary depending on the server.

You'll be using your X-wing for general duty even as a master pilot, it's got a reasonable amount of mass, speed and manouverabilityand 3 projectile mounts so it can deal out lots of damage. It is the ultimate gerneral purpose fighter in JTL.

All 3 pilot professions have equal ships, don't get cought up in the trap that a tier 4 ship is better than a tier 2 ship, it doesn't work that way. There a 4 types of ship's, bomber, fighter, fighter/bomber, and multiplayer. No matter what tier you get it on doesn't make it better, just different. The x-wing is a good fighter/bomber type, not as fast as a pure fighter, and not as much firepower as a pure bomber, but a good mix. I think the privateers get their fast little fighter at tier 2, while I had to wait for my a-wing untill tier 4, its still pretty much the same ship, fast....good roll, pitch, and yall rates, and very very little mass. You will hear people talking about master ships, don't fall for it, any ship in the hands of a master is a good ship, just depends on your perfered flying style, and of course the better componets you put in your ship the better it will be.

Love this sort of discussion. Speaking of which, I love my Xwing so far much better then any ship I have had to date. In Beta, I liked the Nova Courier but didn't get a chance to use it much. Haven't Mastered yetand didn't get either the Awing or Bwing in Beta so can't really compare.
