X-wings arn't necessarily aligned with the rebellion. This NPC ship just happens to work for the empire.

No...just a bodyguard for an imperial recovery ship. Endor sector, right? I've shot down some of these.

Well, at the time line we are in, X-Wings are exclusively produced for the rebellion...
Incom, was outalwed by the Empire, as in designers, production workers, management..Everyone was wanted and to be arrested. They fled and got refuge with the rebellion.
In wich case, they started a slow production of X-Wings for the rebellion.
It was not until after the death of the Emperor, and the rebellion gainaing some foothold, that Incom got production up enough to start selling the X-Wing outside of the rebellion. Remember, they did not have shiny factories and facilities until the rebellion got them some.
So, those X-Wings are totally wrong. At this timeline, the empire actually wanted captured X-Wings, so they could study them and improve their own ships so they could counter them.
the TIE/in, interceptor was the first one..With the TIE/ad , Advanced(Nicknamed Avenger), being the TIE that matched the X-Wing in every aspect. (No, not TIE Advanced X-1...never existed)
But anyway..X-Wings in civilian service and Imperial service is just wrong for the time line we are in.
