So are these the ships we can expect:
1. A-Wing Starfighter
2. B- Wing Starfighter
3. X- Wing Starfighter
4. Y- Wing Starfighter
5. TIE Advance
6. TIE Bomber
7. TIE Fighter
8. TIE Interceptor
9. Z-95 Headhunter
2. B- Wing Starfighter
3. X- Wing Starfighter
4. Y- Wing Starfighter
5. TIE Advance
6. TIE Bomber
7. TIE Fighter
8. TIE Interceptor
9. Z-95 Headhunter
10. Hutt fighter
11. Unknown Fighter 1
12. Unknown Fighter 2
13. YT-1300 Space Transport
11. Unknown Fighter 1
12. Unknown Fighter 2
13. YT-1300 Space Transport
So reading the devs post, I saw that Shug or somebody said that we could expect AT LEAST 15 ships, if not more. That list is only 13. That leaves room for AT LEAST 2 more!
I think I speak for every Rebel when I say I hope to not see the Tie Defender on this list. The Tie Defender was broken in Tie Fighter, XvT and XWA. Brr-O-Ken!
The Tie Defender is TOO Fast, TOo Manueverable, and has too many benefits and no drawbacks. The DEVs may as well give the Imps a Star Destroyer each, as it's the same effect as giving them Tie Defenders.
I've also heard that players will be able to get a Tie Fighter and give it shields. Is this true? AND if it is, please please please don't call it a Tie Fighter. Call it a Modified Tie if anything. It's almost as bad as letting players have AT-STs and for you to call them AT-ATs. If the continuity is to be helped at least don't ruin the image of a standard Tie Fighter. Shields are fine, just don't call them Tie Fighters, K?
I've also heard that players are going to have to get their fighters crafted, which is okay. But please let us know what rank we need to be to use X-Wings, etc. K?
2 New Races?
Okay, cool.
10 regions of space? This I disagree with. There should be hordes of space locations. Although I can see how an MMORPG should be highly concentrated with lots of player interaction, the rebels will need places to hide. I doubt it would be that much harder to add 50 sub-locations for hiding or trading/smuggling/etc. 10? That's it? 10?
Multiple accounts... for this I'm glad. Believe it or not I am so glad that space is twitched based. So all your extra accounts can sit around and do nothing, unless you can drive two space ships at once with your mad skills. Thank you SOE!
Now, what you haven't told us is how to prepare.
I've always been a big star wars fan. And I even purchased X-Wing and it's two expansions when they came out! Then I purchased Tie Fighter and it's expansion when it came out. I bought Xwing Vs Tie Fighter and I even bought X Wing Alliance. I've mastered all of them except XWA in which I never finished because I was too much of a perfectionist (dang Starwings in mission 5!). On all of them I have attained the highest status and all the medals. However, with what I have read thus far, I'm uncertain that my twitch skill will have any benefit in this new environment. In the MMORPG it seems like money and ship alterations will be much more effective than my good ol' twitch skills on my X-Fighter Thrustmaster. True? I guess I will find out. But I have this unnerving feeling that as much as we all think it will be twitch, it'll be as twitch as PvP combat is right now (requiring quick keys and really good armor and a good doctor to survive).
And just in case, I have been playing XWA for the past 2 months.
Which reminds me, Luke... on those time trials, look at my time vs yours and eat your heart out!
PS. Why can't guilds opt for a Corellian Corvette as a base of ops rather than a guild hall? Now that would be starwars!
PPS. Finally StarWars Galaxies with the Stars in it!
PPPS. Any answers to this post would be appreciated.

We don't know how big these regions are though. You might fly for 30 minutes realtime in each zone and never reach the end of the zone. We just don't know how big they are going to be.

First off, thanks for responding.
But, I disagree with this.
Okay, so when you hyper in to a region, will we all hyper into the middle? The sides? Do we get to choose? Is it random? Or is it static?
Because there is a huge factor in how these regions will play out.
Secondly, having more regions of space does not equal 10 super large regions of space. There is a thing called radar that should tell anyone nearby who is there. A different region of space not only helps continuity but also helps players get a better feel for space-jumps and smuggling adventures. Plus more areas means more opportunities for missions expansions after release. After all, 10 regions means, what? at most 20 points of interest (2 at each region) and thats a more crowded starwars than I remember.
Space should be space. Battles are different and bases are different. But there should be more regions to be able to give the feeling of loneliness which seems impossible with the idea of 10 regions.
Make sense?

On the ship count, there are 3 versions of the YT-1300 rebel, imperial, neutral. I believe the devs are counting that as 3 ships and not 1. So that is your 15.
On the 10 space sectors. We have 10 planets, and there are way more than 20 points of interest. I think 10 sectors is fine to start, assuming that they are massive. I think the sectors will be plenty big enough to let you find spots to be lonely if you choose.
I do agree with your concern as to the loading points. It will be silly if everyone loads at the same point and you can camp certain coordinates and just wait for ships to jump in and out.
