if i switch from storm squadron to another squad like imperial inquisiton (for example) do i keep my current piloting xp or do i have to completeley start from scratch, lose all my xp? (i am 2222 in ss )

Yep, you lose it all.
You have to go to your recruiter. Not the trainer, the recruiter. One of his dialogue choices will be "I want to leave my squadron" or some such. You'll lose all your earned certifications and points. Make sure you don't have an inpiration buff on when you do it, because you'll lose the value of the bonus xp as well.
The one plus side is you'll be able to re-earn the nifty mission rewards.
