Thread: If non-master level privateers can't fly iconic ships, could we at least get some uglies?

Is it me or does flying as a privateer not feel much like Star Wars? Sure, there's the music when I enter battle and the sound my blaster makes, but aside from that, I'm just in this non-descript Hutt ship that could be from any space combat game and I'm shooting up a bunch of Klingon battle cruisers -- er, I mean Black Sun fighters.
I understand that the iconic Star Wars ships belong to the GCW factions, but the "X-Wing" novels make repeated reference to "uglies," ships flown by privateer-type characters that have been cobbled together out of parts of iconic Star Wars ships. Is there any chance we could get to fly these someday? Or are neutral players stuck playing a version of Star Wars that visually doesn't bear any resemblence to any recognizable form of the Star Wars universe until we finally grind our way to a Firespray or YT?

Personally I think that the 'temptation' to be freelance pilot should be that the prof gets more multiplayer ships/freighters than the other factions.
I want to see YT-2000s, YT-1500s etc!
And why a firespray is a hard grind I'll never know. Its supposed to be quitea naff ship. Its only cause Boba Fett customised his so much.

I actually like the Privateer ships because they do have a unique look. I know this is Star Wars, but all we really ever saw were Rebel and Imperial ships (not counting falcon and slave 1), so it's harder to fly in something that say "me". For the record, I am a rebel, but I wish there were more ways to make ships more custom to your character. Like how players are unique on the ground.
