I'm on tier 3, mission 3 for Storm Squadron atm. I picked up the data from that one Lamda shuttleand delivered the data to that other Lamda shuttle. I'm nowsupposed to seek & destroy rebels. However, I get no waypoint to go to. Nothing.Am I supposed to just kill random reb spawns until a certain number of kills has been achieved? Any info would be much appreciated .

/bump ... someone must have done this mission . What's also strange is, I just hypered to Yavin and even landed at the Imp Base after I didn't get a WP for seek & destroy for the last 15 minutes or so but the mission was never reported as failed (like it usually is if you hyper out). What's up with all that? Did you get a waypoint for the seek & destroy part? I've read somewhere here that you had to take out 4 waves of fighters. Is that what is supposed to happen? Get WP and kill those waves?

I just did this mission last night, was a breeze compared to the other tier 3 missions for Storm Squadron. When I got the destroy rebel mission, there were still 7 rebels flying loops around me from protecting the shuttle. So I killed them off and got the mission complete. The trick to the mission is that you MUST stay in the Endor system. Essentially, when you hyperspaced back to Yavin, you aborted the mission. At least that's what happens in EVERY other mission.

As for the fourth mission for Tier 3, get a large group. You will end up having to disable a Nova class shuttle with 2 turrets that I have yet to find a way of gettin past easily. Then, once you've gotten the plans from it, another will warp in with another escort. This time, you have to kill it. Get it to 50% shileds every time, but then it eats through my armor faster then I can hit its armor and reactor. Best of luck!

Thanks a lot . Guess I know what went wrong then. I hypered to D435 (inside the Endor system)in between to get repairs and went to the rendezvous point straight away afterwards. Docked successfully and got the seek & destroy mission. Well, I guess you need to kill all interceptors then that pop up at about half way between the pick-up and delivery waypoint and not "cheat" your way out by going straight to the delivery point (would be fishy anyway if the mission were that easy after the first two ).

Also, thanks for the hint about the 4th mission. I'll try to do it solo at least once though since I've solo'd all Tier 3 up to now but those cruisers sure sound like red mobs . I might try a TIE bomber and bring some missiles to take out their weapons real fast. We'll see... first got to get that 3rd mission done.

Thanks again .

/bump ... no, not hypering to D435 doesn't help either. Could anyone who has done this missionplease explain in *detail* what exactly is supposed to happen after you have docked with the 2nd shuttle? I get 'seek & destroy' reb ships but have repeatedly gotten no waypoint and there are also no rebs around except for the static tier 4 spawns near that Nebulon frigate and the Advanced Recon A-Wing. Am I bugged? Do I have to kill static spawns? How many? I've killed that static A-Wing 20+ times now. Or do you need 200K XP (equivalent of a 3rd tier box)? What gives? Help please .

if it's the mission i think it is, you have to disable the recon fighter and dock with it, not kill it.

It's not. It's the mission where you have to pick up data from one shuttle and then deliver it to another. As I said in the original post, I'd like to know what is supposed to happen after you dock with the 2nd shuttle. Seek & destroy rebels is what the mission says but I get no waypoint or reb spawns. That's the problem.

I've had a similar bug happen on this same type of mission... as soon as one mission is complete, you receive your next and are supposed to get a new wp, but don't. I had this happen many times in a row. Couldn't figure out why. Then on a whim, I opened my datapad, and found it was about 97% full (or there abouts). I freed up some room in my datapad, and the bug hasn't hit me since. Can't say for sure that it fixed it, but I've successfully received all my mission waypoints since then. FWIW...

- I supported keeping & balancing the original combat system You can too

25 down, 0 to go. Unlocked 5/21/04.
Can you imagine how cool the original combat system would've been if they put the same amount of work and effort into it as they did the CU?

Update: It's really weird. Maybe the problem was indeed that I had so little XP (only about130K from tier 3 mission 1 and 2 since I only disabled ships on mission 1 and 2 of tier 3).

However, after killing that Advanced Recon A-Wing for the 50th time or so I finally ran across a random tier 4 regular A-Wing. Killed it and suddenly got the message '3 targets remaining'.

So I went to that Nebulon frigate in the Endor system that is near the Endor Space Station and killed a few more tier 4 ships (B-Wings and X-Wings) and then all of a sudden I get the 'Escort the decoy shuttle' mission and the waypoint to the rendezvous point.

Unfortunately, I failed on that mission. It said I had to kill 4 waves. Well, the game most definitely threw more than 4 waves at me (at least 6)but it may be that I didn't kill all ships of a single wave (ships from a previous wave appear to stay behind as soon as a new wave spawns). I'll focus on eliminating one full wave next time before engaging the next wave.

Kinda pissed right now as I spent overTHREE hours(!) on this wholemission alonelol .

Anyway, hope that info helps others, too. If you don't get a waypoint for escorting the decoy shuttle after delivering the data to the 2nd Lamda shuttle but a 'seek & destroy reb ships' mission instead then go kill some static tier 4 spawns.

Thanks again for your help .

Datapad was most likely not the issue. Here's some updated info on why I got stuck in 'seek & destroy reb ships' mode (I also posted it to another thread): Maybe the problem was indeed that I had so little XP (only about130K from tier 3 mission 1 and 2 since I only disabled ships on mission 1 and 2 of tier 3).

I am also having probles I have killed 4 1/2 waves in a rowand failed the mission

A wave being 3 A-wings a 1 B-wing

If wou get the message must return to the shuttle does that reset the waves?

the maximum number of waves i have faced is 8. maximum number destroyed is 5

do you nead to destroy 4 qaves in a roll staying close <1km to the shuttle?

This mission is near impossible to solo. The trick is you have to completely destroy a wave before the next wave appears while not straying to far from the shuttle. You hear the "complete" music when you have cleared each of the four waves needed.
I am now one mission away from getting my Ace title and this mission is one of the two missions I couldn't manage to solo. I simply couldn't kill the fighters fast enough by myself before another wave hypered in. I finally brought one guildy with me after many, many tries soloing it and the mission was easy to finish with one wingman.
