Thread: Level 10 blaster that doesn't work, What's the deal?

I have a level 10 "Sienar Design Systems Experimental "Secret Ops" Blaster


Stats are as follows:

Armor: 688.3/688.3

Hitpoints: 688.3/688.3

Reactor Drain: 2353.5

Mass: 56086.0

Damage: 2361.2-4567.8

Vs. Shields: 0.607

Vs. Armor 0.622

Energy/Shot: 36.1

Refire Rate 0.409

RE Level: 10 (Not RE'd yet)


My issue is that when I equip this in either my Krayt or YT-1300 I get no graphical representation of it being present and when I add it to a weapon group and attempt to fire, nothing happens. Does anyone have any idea what the deal is here? Should I submit a ticket on this? I looked around on the boards and didn't see any other posts about this issue. Input is appreciated.

I had the same thing happen to a booster, Level 7 I think it was. I logged a ticket andjust deleted it.

Assuming you haven't pushed it over your reactor level yet (either by itself or thru using Engine and Weapon overloads), I'd say it was bugged. Best way to tell, if you aren't getting "Weapon disabled" messages when you try to fire, it isn't a reactor issue and should be reported.

At one point I couldn't get any boosters to work on my ship. The commands wouldn't give any errors like the "This ship is not equipped with boosters" or"Not available at this time" but nothing would happen when I tried to fire them.Strippingthe shipand re-deeding it solved the problem.

This was actually a common bug when the game first released. Any blaster that doesn't have a graphical representation will not work. You can save them for REing, but that's really about it.

It's not a reactor issue, this is what Coran suggested. Whether I stick this weapon on my Krayt or my YT-1300 there is no graphic and I cannot fire it. That stinks, this thing is incredible. Now I need to find 9 more level 10 blasters to RE... ugh.

As others have stated, the "foo foo" named loot like "Special Ops" blasters and whatnot appear to be exceptional loot that excel in one or more stats. Unfortunately they don't have graphical files to accompany their fire.

Make sure to tell a shipwright to put this blaster in around the middle to prevent it from being the dominant Post-RE gun. The damage is VERY respectable for pre-RE. The highest I've looted was 4430.7. The armor/hp, drain, minimum damage, mass, and effectiveness can be markedly improved, though - beyond .8xx if you keep collecting.

Have the same level 10 "Sienar Design Systems Experimental "Secret Ops" Blaster, slightly different stats though. Same problem as you Rrowlacca...no graphics, not useable etc.

/bug'ed it, no response yet, well holiday season...

Still some lvl10 blasters short to attempt the RE, it's not that they are dropping in masses :-/

this is a known problem with the krayt, my guns that do this work fine on my rixryk... thing.

sadly they arent going to fix that for you.. Just keep it and put it on your wall because its godly.. they wont take time to make it work...

Tuscanspeed: just tried that with my rhik, gun is still not visible/useable. besides it wasn't working in my YT either :/
