If I have the mission to destroy the Corvette and I see some others of my faction attacking it. Will I get credit for the mission if I start attacking the Corvette with them without joining their group?

You must damage it at least once and you must be in Kessel near the Corvett when destroyed. Best thing to do is jump into a group and attack it when fast pilots can disable her.
