Thread: POB Ships Auto Pilot Should Remain on

This is an old post re-edited:

Subject being why isn't auto pilot actually automatic?

Leave seat ship stops! Not auto ANYTHING!

My suggestion:

You can access waypoints via your data pad, ALL waypoints.
When in interior of a POB ship, put a feature in the data pad's radial menu on space waypoints to autopilot to. The ship then starts to head to that particular waypoint and the pilot can wander round ship with crewmates just like in the movies.

Get a system message as you approach given waypoint so pilot could "plot" next destination.

I'm sure I'm not the ONLY pilot who would LOVE to see this sort of thing (or something along the same lines) implemented.

unfortunatly that wouldqualify as fun, so the devs had to leave it out of the game.

I can't agree more strongly. Doesnt my stupid med droid have any pilot skillz or something? Now I have to find me some noob I can trust to fly it for me while I entertain my guests (so far just one level 10 dewback) below. My search for a little chafuer monkey has not been successful yet and I doubt it will anytime soon.

i seem to remember in Ep IV that they all were in the back while autopilot was on? am i wrong?

since its AUTO-pilot it "should" pilot on its own without supervision id think..

Yeha, it sucks, the devs haven't even acknowledged the issue

I agree. Being able to set autopilot would be cool. And there's no side-effects from leaving the chair. If you forget and let her ride, you hit the invisible wall...no harm, no foul.

I remember beta testers complaining about this also. Don't know why it wasn't fixed in time, but would definitely add to the coolness factor.

Even better would be to set waypoints (like droid or pet patrol) and just float around in circles in the debris field outside Yavin IV while having a party!

This is they way it should be. Auto pilotshouldnt force someone to stay in the pilot seat. Hence this is not auto pilot. Its follow.

Id like auto pilot, not the bootleg version of it....

I have to agree that we should have auto-pilot. But for now why don't you help out your neighbourhood noob??? Just pay them like 10-15k an hour to have them fly you around and stuff. When I was a noob to JTL I wanted to get the pratice so I hired myself out to my guild to fly the Soro for parties. I loved flying along with two TIEs flanking the ship (escorts) and every once and a while they would head off and engage the enemys.

I agree. Auto-pilot should be just that. Automatic. You should be able to get up and walk around and your ship continues to its destination.
