Yeah, I think being able to get out and roam around on a space station would be an excellent idea.

I think this issue has been discussed before with the idea of allowing player / PA owned capital ships, but personally, I would really like it to expand out to more, like Player owned space stations that are similar to a player city that exists in space.

Even if we could dock & run around faction bases & accept missions, buy weapons etc it would really add a new level of depth to the game.

Personally, I doubt we'll see any major advances in space until the Combat Upgrade is done, but ideas are always good

I wholeheartedly agree, I have been contemplating this for some time and feel it neccesary that they get some design staff working on some interior design for these stations, rebel, imperial, gangster, or even planetary civilian/defence ie.. CorSec, and RSF..

It would add so much to the immersion for us all to be able to stop, refuel, load up on supplies by browsing through a promonod and cantina, and possible, if the stations are big enough.. Allow for the invisibile stations, some large habitable sections of the station accesible via elevator, giving us the alternative to A.) go and live in some player city down on tatooine, or B.) go purchase a starstricken flat on board the spacestation above.

For rebel and imperial stations, which could go on to be attacked (then they'd be destroyable and therefore not likely to be habitable,) then there should be many turrets onboard that crew and personnel could scramble to when the station begins to be pounded by an enemy squadron making an assault.

Best of all you could have a massive hangar bay with parked ships, where shipwrights could hang out and offer upgrades, enhancements, and kids who flew in on their Z-95 could ask to be on your boarding list for your multi-person ship as you move to take off..

(imagine for ships tht come in damaged, if the alternative t be repaired was presented, and you could see animations of seeing some npc technicians climobing and crawling around your ship welding random things, spewing sparks, and such..)
