If there an option, were I can display what my shield stregnth and how much it is weakening after every shot?

The blue circle surounding your radar is the shield health, as you get hit the circle goes away. the red inner circle on the radar is your armor health.

Somthing just isnt right about that

Under the ship components screen (v key by default) it shows max shield hp and current shield hp. Not much good for flying with this open though.
