I'm having a lot of trouble with tier 2 missions, because most enemies are faster than me, and I cant keep up without using pumpreactor or boosters, and lasers dont seem to do anything if they hit anywhere other than the rear or the front, or if the target is over 150m away....

are you Imp or Reb?

It's been my experience that it is best NOT to 'keep up' with your target. I've found that decreasing speed in a dog fight allows me to stay inside my targets turning radius and i can just shoot them all day. That's just how i do it....no, killing a Tier3 A-wing isa little different....lol

Make sure you keep up with the highest level equipment you can load, boosters are a big help too. That is if your having trouble getting them in firing range. If they are in range, follow the guys post above, adjust your speed so you can manuever fast, which is usually about half throttle.

I keep adjusting speed to keep up, then to turn faster when they start out-turning me. I'm almost always firing high-deflection shots (from the side, leading a lot) but it seems to get the job done. Sure, I'd like a bit more speed with good turning, but this does the job...

I'm having the same trouble. I manage to finish the missions, but I find myself pretty badly outgunned in my duty missions now. I picked up a TIE/In a couple of days ago, and I am hoping that the extra mass will allow me to load up some heavier guns so I can finally hit those pirates for some worthwhile damage. I, too, have found that slowing down helps in dogfights, though. Just below half speed usually does the trick.

I've certainly felt the pain of tier 2. As an imperial, the tie fighter I started with is just no good anymore. I'm just trying to find a shipwright to buy a good ship from so I can load it up with good equipment.

The biggest problem is that I don't know a good ship or good equipment. I'm too new. I'll learn the hard way I'm sure.
