Thread: Recent problems in Kessel and DS on Eclipse (not sure about other servers)

Since the patch:

1. The destruction of Freedom Station has left DS virtually devoid of Rebel ships. It's been this way for nearly 24 hours.

2. The Vette now even more violently "bucks" when attacked, which when coupled with the normal lag experienced with online play and incredibly small 'hot zones' for the shields and engines, makes for nigh-impossible destruction of the ship.

3. The Vette now hypers out randomly around its route unannounced. I can't tell you enough how frustrating it is to attempt to help someone only to have the target decide "HAHA, NOT TODAY" and evaporate all your hard work. For me, destroying the ship is a bit of a moot point - but for others, seeing this happen would be INCREDIBLY disheartening.

Suggested solutions:

1. Set Freedom Station and the ISD on a one-hour respawn timer when destroyed. Now that the rewards have been "fixed," there shouldn't be an issue with exploiting its destruction for profit. Deep Space isn't everyone's cup of tea, but when it's completely devoid of the superspawns it's known for, it truly is useless.

Furthermore, it's somewhat depressing to come into DS and see the ISD all but destroyed except for a few components left untouched. Put both the ISD and Rebel Station on a 1 hour repair timer that begins the moment it sustains its first hit and voids if the target is destroyed before the time elapses; the notion that either the Empire or the Rebellion would leave two such valuable assets unrepaired over such long spans of time is preposterous.

2. Please streamline the turning procedure on the Vette - I fathom the problem has something to do with the fact that the Vette can't/doesn't roll, and thus has to resort to wild spasms in order to achieve the right position. If it's a defensive mechanism, it's an extremely unfair one to any pilots who just want to master their craft, as it's EXTREMELY difficult to draw a bead on the ship's extremely small hot zones.

3. Make the hyper-in and hyper-out points of the Vette appear in the pilot's Datapad when assigned the mission, and fix any bugs which would cause the ship to hyper out of the system prematurely.

1. That was thier fix to the 500k every 5 minute farming tactic back when it dropped way too many credits. Freedom Station now only respawns when the zone resets. Only way to reset the zone other than server reset, is to destroy the ISD. Destroying the ISD causes Freedom Station to respawn at 100% regardless of its condition before (also resets every NPC in the zone).

2. I wouldn't call that new either. See this behavior more in DS than kessel, but its very very frustrating to see a vette being more maneuverable than a fighter... Anybody who wants collision detection obviously hasn't tried fighting with a bucking vette.

3. Haven't seen it so no comment...

It's been my experience that the Freedom Station respawns just minutes after being destroyed. However, on one occasion shortly before the patch, the station didn't respawn for at least 24 hours.
