Hi,

I'm a relatively new player to SWG.

I chose Storm Squad as my Imperial Squadron, before I knew it was one of the hardest.

The missions are hard and often long.

I'm on my 8th try for this one (where you have to fight alongside the TIE Wing).

To those who are frustrated just keep trying, obviously its possible , just hard (I come from Everquest so I recall the epic quests hehe).

However, even though i'm 3/2/2/2 , I just now realized you can purchase Ready Chips for your flight computer....

I always thought it was odd that there were no other commands than those you get from skill boxes.

But there are indeed ways to recharge shields, use the weapon overload without wasting energy (just get weapon capacitor overload!).

I can't wait to try the mission again.

In a game that changes so much, with very little official documentation, I wouldn't be surprised if alot of the frustrated players don't know about all these extra commands.

Maybe everyone knows this, but I felt I just had to let newer players know .

Thanks,

Voidd

Absolutely, droid programs are almostrequired. As a new player one should get 1211 pilot as soon as possible, this can easily be done in thefree ship. Then get a nice player made unitand begin with a level2 astromech with reactor overload 1 or 2 and weapon overload 3. You should be able tofind them on the bizzar, I found them from 5k ea to 10k ea on various vendors. Once you can get to xxx3 pilot get a v4 FC or droid and use reactor, engine, weapon cap and weapon overload 3 and shield shunt 4.Space should berather easy until your final 4444 exit mision and the ace vette if you use programs with a less than optimalloadout.

Remember though, every time you hit one of these programs it will damage the armor of the component a little. When the damage to the armor hits 0 the component is disabled and will need repair. Repairing using repair kits or by repairing at a space stationreduces the max armor by some amount, this is called decay. Eventually the components armor will be so low even one use of a program will destroy it and that component will need to be replaced. Rebels can call in space repair to fix their equipment a little without any decay (this will reset your programs though so it should only be used before you land). Once you are ace heading into deep space and back will automagically repair all damage with no decay. The point here is do not repair your items at the space stations every time, repair them only when you really need to or they will just decay away into nothingness really fast.

For the sake of all things, let an artist fix saber animations!

Decay is 1 point for every 10 points repaired. If a component has less then 10 points damage it does not suffer decay when repaired.Level 1, 2 and 3 droid programs do less then 10 points damage and can be repaired without decay with kits or at stations.

You still haven't read the guide in my sig then, or checked the Pilot Forum FAQ.

I have to concur here...

I never found anything on droids and commands until I read some document someone has linked in their siggy...

Now with my broke-ass R4 droid and the right commands, I'm all, like,... BooYAH BeOtch!

Ripped a Corvette apart with a couple shield commands and a Cap overload... and some missles.
