Next, did Inspect the vessel in question? In order to retrieve an item, data, etc, you must generally inspect. It sounds as though you know something of the procedure for docking though, if you were denied the ability, I would ask if you disabled the engines, the reactor, or both. But from what you've written, it's more likely that you have not inspected first, and determined the craft did have what you were looking for.

Hi thanks for the reply. Not knowing the technique is a drag, as I can't train and now am capped xp wise.

Can you explain disabling craft to me I think that's wherethe problem lies.

I use match speed on the lam and try to stop firing when it stops moving, but inevitably end up destroying it, yes it's still shooting at me at this point.

I will go experiment whilst I wait for a reply.

I figured it out. the [ and ] keys select different systems of your target. Makes life a whole lot easier. Thanks for your help anyways.
