Apologies if this idea has been mentioned before, I did a search but did not find anything...

I've recently completed the Alliance Vortex and Smuggler's Alliance tree and had some post-master thoughts. What if we had a trainer who was available after master pilot who gave us harder missions with familiar faces from the Star Wars universe? For example, a smuggler mission could be to escort Han and Chewie in the Falcon against Tie fighters while they try to re-activate the hyper-drive. Nothing too crazy, just harderTier 5's and familiar star wars characters inserted into the normal duty missions would make the game feel much more star warsy, plus add a challenge to pilots who can sleepwalk through the current Tier 4 duties.

Nice idea. I really like it. It meshes well with the one I had for JTL Themeparks. Instanced missions that allow you to take part in PVP versions of the Space Battles in the Movies. Attack on the DS would. for example, run one or twice per month, and only when enough pilots signed up for it and were online at the same time. Say,eight of both factions in space, for grouping, the same on the ground on endor for the ground part. Link the two and make the DS un-attackable till the Shield Generator is down. Fighters would engage till theb, Once it's downed by the ground team ( if it is), the attack on the DS starts. If the ground team for the rebs are successful, they get a Badge for taking down the Gen. If the Space crew is successful ( reb) they get the Space Badge. If the imps aare successfull, they get the badges for defending it. No effect on the GCW, but it would be content. And good Content Badges. It would require tem work. It would, IMHO, be fun and easuy to code. Most of the Codeing is already there except for the DS. Just putting it together in a linked Themepark.

The only problem with a "Death Star Run" is that even the smaller First Death Star is massively larger then a single space zone is. Perhaps there could be a smaller battlestation shaped along the lines of the Death Star that could be an extremely dangerous base to attack.

Such a "mini" Death Star could have about the same diameter as the overal length of the Deep Space ISD. If they work things out right, the current lag issue could be made a non-issue. Obviously, these proposed "mini" Death Stars wouldn't necesarily be Planet Destroying weapons of destruction, but they could be designed to waste Capital ships with one or two direct hits from their "Mega Laser" main weapon.

This could be something available once Capital Ships are available to us players as well...

I thought Han gave up smuggling when he joined the Alliance (SWG is/wasset between Episodes IV and V)

The only time we saw Han smuggling was in Episode IV when he smuggled himself aboard the Death Star

The whole point of the DS themepark idea is that it's a Themepark. It's not supposed to destroy anything in the game except those attacking it. If it's an instanced area, like Deep Space ( which, BTW, is larger than the other space areas, you'll notice), then the actual space stations size is irrelevent. All you need is the surfave with the trench. It need only be similar to the planets that are really just wallpaper. Only difference here is that, instead of flying close to a planet, where when you get a certain distance away, you cannot advance further, you can inter the trench and make the run. You would enter the DS mission like you enter either the Kessel area or Deep Space. You have to "Jump" there, or click on a Space Station to get in. Once you enter, you are Overt. You play the scenerio, and you leave. You are shot at by NPC turrets, or player manned turrents, you hit your mark, and you pull up. In the surrounding area, PVP goes on to prevent, facilitate this run. It would be two areas, linked for the mission. A ground area where if the Generator goes down in the ground area, the shields are taken down in the space area. Two connections between them, the shields and chat. Thats all thats needed.

Make it an instanced area ( several, only so many in there at a time, once it's full, the system message displays starting the mission. No more than 8 per side ( grouping), no less than 3 per side ( realism). Sometimes the Rebs win and get the Badges ( show a Movie that is the DS blowing up), sometimes the Imps winn and get the badges ( show a movie of Endor Blowing up). It's really very simple. Just a Space themepark. Coding for that wouldn't be complicated. Thesame used for othet themeparkd wuld work with different graphics. And since the same coding is used and only adjusted with graphics, id a code that works now is used, the likelyhood of Bugs is reduced. The only really unique coding would be the system messages and the interaction between the ships and the wallpaper. Not that hard to do, and one very easy way of making a lot of JTL player VERY happy. Don't like the idea? Don't go there. Just like deep space. With no reall effect on the GCW, it's the "Lazy Programmer's " dream.

Where do you people get this info? Ever watch the movies? the death star is smaller than endor is and that was the second one which was larger than the first.......

The Death Star most certainly is NOT bigger than any space zone we have.
