I've heard the 27th for a long time but I wouldn't doubt that maybe a typo was made. I would like someone to come in here and tell people what is going on but alas.

Yeah first it said 27th,then 26th, AND AGIAN 27th!!! Make up your mind stupid devs!

If you got your copy early, don't register till Oct. 26th (or els eyou may get signed up for Beta)

I'm wondering about this, too. Is it the 26th or 27th?
When SWG originally came out, I ordered directly from SOE/LucasArts. The CD came the day after official release day. With various problems that popped up the first day or so, it wasn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things, just annoying to preorder directly from the game publisher and get the game after non-preorder people could pick it up from a shelf at a local store. LOL
So this time, I preordered from Gamestop, in part because they had the game to people before SOE last time and also in part because of the Flash Speeder offer. Now it's sounding like those who ordered direct from SOE/LA are already getting JTL while the local Gamestop store told me today I couldn't pickthe game up until the 27th. (We'll have to see if they get it in tomorrow with a note saying "BTW, release is now the 26th instead of the 27th" so they can give us a call. LOL)
It'd be nice if they had a consistent release date where everyone receives and/or starts selling it on the same day and it gets activated on the servers as well. This "preorder and get the game 'late'" stuff is a tad annoying.
I guess part of the problem is that I had a lot of fun during beta and don't want to wait till Wednesday if the date JTL's going live is tomorrow.

I am betting the 26th is the ship date, so it should be in stores on the 27th.

on the main page they tell you if you register your JTL CD-key on the 26th it will be invalid on the 27th wen the game actually is playable on the servers.

Yeah, they changed the date.
The main page was saying the 26th earlier today. In fact, there were dev posts that were also saying not to register until the 26th as well, such as this one: http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=General&message.id=70454#M70454

If you pre-ordered it it will ship on tuesday so you can get it on wednesday. If you're buying it at the store, check on tuesday and if they do not have it then just come back the next day.
btw, I CANNOT WAIT!
