is there a way to gain jabba or hutt faction in space?

No, no way to gain anything but Rebel or Imp faction (if you're that faction on the ground or flying with somebody who is). If you're doing SA, and aren't 2222 yet, there's a series of quests to get to the throne room without doing Jabba's Palace.
