Hi All,
It seems the search function isn't working, so sorry if this has been answered many times before, here goes:
I'm new to SWG (got the Total Experience version) and am having trouble with the flight controls in space. I've read the manual, but some of the controls seem a little confusing to a young padawan like me, so, can anyone help by telling me what the default buttons are to do the following actions:
1). How do I change camera view, the default cockpit view takes up half the screen and I find dogfighting difficult, is there a way to remove the cockpit view, or get an external view ?
2). Is there a virtual cockpit view ? if so how do I use it so I can look around the cockpit.
3). How does targeting work, there seem do be millions of buttons with different targeting functions, all I need to know is which key will target the Nearest Enemy. The manual says it is the 'TAB' key but it doesn't seem to work for me! Is there a way to also taget what is in your sights ?
4). How do I get the mouse pointer to work, when conversing with a ship or station it gives options that I obviously need to click on, but I have no mouse pointer :-(

Options > Misc > Turn off cockpit view, will help with #1.
2). Is there a virtual cockpit view ? if so how do I use it so I can look around the cockpit.
Move the mouse? Unless you don't have a joystick...read through the keymap in the options.

Again, just skim the keymap in the options. Probably best to set Target Nearest Enemy to a different key, mine is on my joystick.

ALT key.

It all depends on how you have the keymap set up. There's quite a few default ones you can pick, and I don't know what the out-of-the-box map looks like. Best idea would be to crack open the options page while in space (CTRL-O and then Keymap) and have a look.
Saying that:
1) Plus and Minus keys on the numpad let you zoom out to 3rd-person, or you can hit CTRL-F2 (I think) to hide the cockpit in 1st-person
2) You're in the virtual cockpit view... not sure what's bound to "move pilots head" by default
3) Check the keymap, don't remember what the defaul key is. Yes, you can target under reticle. Again, check the keymap.
4) SWG has two modes. Hit ALT to change modes, and your mouse pointer will appear.
