Come on folks JTL has been out what a year almost now ? Still screwin around with adding content and whooooppppppeeeeee asteroids you can mine!!! I want to destroy space craft. Pretty simple any idea when this will be fixed ??????????????? how about just add a comment in the file that says if i hit the damn thing 40 times then it dies would that be possible ????
1.) Do you have a satalite, 56k or another slow or burst packet sending type connection? If So they suck for MMO's because where you see a ship at is not the same as where the server has the ship at. Therefore even if you see yourself hitting the ship you might not be.
2.) CHILL OUT. It's happened to just about everyone at some point.

SWG has many bugs, but this is 'not' one of them.
This problem has do with lag, and it could be congestion on your end, your ISP's or your server being particularly crowed at the time.
Sometimes, depending on the day, time etc.. I get this too.
And I know if another program is sharing my internet connection (uploading/downloading) it happens every time.
you arent hitting your target. your client is predicting a hit and showing the shield flare effect, but the server is regestering a miss. you are either leading too much or too little.
if you have a crap connection, try leading more.
if you have a good cable connection, and ping under 100ms, its possible you are leading too much if aiming right at the lead point indicator. i find that i get best results putting my crosshairs about 4/5ths from the target to the lead reticle. best thing to do is aim for the indictor, and then slowly start to walk your fire closer to the target. pay attention and when you score ahit, pour fire into that point until your target violently explode.
the ammount you have to lead will vary with server load as well. on bria, it can change from having to aim half way from the ship to the indicator on off hours, and then when there is a ton of lag i might have to lead way past it.

I don't think it's a latency issue...
Get two players up into space, go to kashyyk space and have one player try to shoot down one of the Royal Guard Squints that hang around the Imperial station. The other player should be able to observe the shields hits on the squint but no damage registered. If this was a latency issue, the other player should not be able to see the hits. This is the only place that I know that consistently shows these no damage hits.
ohh! your shooting at an RGI? why didnt you say so.
its hitbox is bugged, hits only score on the top 1/4th of the "eyeball"
