hello everyone. i'm new here so please try to bear with any mistakes that i may make. any feedback from the community about this would be great .

to get right to it, i'm having an issue with my yacht's storage cap. now do'nt get me wrong, i think the yacht is a great veteran reward, i just can't really enjoy itthe way i'd like towith the current item cap. i'm not using my yacht to hoard items or anything like that either. i'm trying to decorate it to look like a space cantina . i can't get it to look the way that i invisioned because of the current item cap :/. i think it would be a good idea to double what the yacht could hold to 150 items max. i think the time for that has come seeing as there is so much more to be had like space loot, banners, quest related items, loot kits, the upcoming loot kits, and just lootable items in general. there is so much to collect and work with but the item cap just seem to get in the way of that . i've only been able to decorate the main bar area and some of the balcony before the cap stopped me dead in the the middle of my decorating. what about the meditation chamber, the operations room, the armory, the pilots room? there is just so much space in the yacht to work with that i almost think it should be demanded that the item cap be upped. it's my reward for my devotion to the game. all i really want is for me and others like me to be able to enjoy it to the fullest. thanks .

In order to do that, because of the database dynamics, they would have to make the yacht take two lots. It seems the majority do not see that as a viable sacrifice.

My alt hasn't even gotten his reward yet since he cant spare the 1 lot. Doubt too many people would be game for increaseing the yacht to 2 lots, especially considering that the MP ships also take a lot.

The item limit is extremely low on the yacht considering it's size but thats just something we will have to put up with i guess.

Well, indeed it is the size of a large house, almost a PA hall... but there's at least one technical issue involved. Before I get into that (and yes, plenty of people have probably heard it before or figured it out), realize that most of the time, a party on board is going to stay in the main hall or up on the balcony. You probably only need 1 or 2 items in other rooms to decorate them, and that's just for people passing through. It can be surprising also how much more you can do with less. =)

Now, the uninteresting technical issue is that the ship takes up 1 lot- with the reduced PA hall lot usage to 7, and a limit of 3 ships (potentially each a MP ship taking 1 lot), bam, there's your 10 lots taken up. And because of that formula, they're probably not going to make the ship worth 2 lots, either. So, I'm guessing that it's not a limit on the ship, but onthe lot that it takes up. So unless they want to store a lot more items per lot (and thus per player), the ship is probably going to be limited to 75 items.

But yeah, do more with less... all I can suggest.

Perhpas tehy could offer an option whereby th eyacht takes one lot initially, but can be "upgraded" via a component or something, as to allow it to both store more items and take additional lots.

For example, buy and load a "Storage Module" and it causes the yacht to use two lots, but it can then store 150 items.

Options are always good...

Link to information WHY Yachts can't hold more.

Aktrez: Great, something we love to hear. Next question is, again, coming from more than just one person, we don't have a name down, this is just Miscellaneous, the question is: "The yacht is increasingly becoming popular with veterans, but why was the item limit set at 75? With the vast amount of room in the wonderful layout of the ship, and reduced server lag in space, is there something we're missing?"

TH: Well, yes and no. The reason it's 75 is simply because it's one lot. One lot is 75 items. In [JtL] Beta, when I posted the Friday Feature about the Yacht and the original design was that you could only have one multiplayer ship out at a time, and if you wanted to take out another one, you'd have to take all of the items off of one ship and place them on another, or put down another set of items if you decorated the two ships differently. And the community very clearly communicated to me that they did not like that. So I went back to the dev team to find out what alternatives we had. The alternative was, rather than attach a certain amount of database usage to each ship, we assigned it to a lot. So it's one lot.

Now, that takes us to the layer of complexity. A lot is 75 items. That's half a house. That's like having half a house running around with you inside the game world. The computer has to track all that and it affects your personal game performance on the client. So if we give you 150, or even more, it would be a lot you have to spend, and that's fine for some people, but it will slow your performance down, because those objects are associated with the character. And lot limits, and things like that, while we know, is not so popular with players, performance in space and performance for ground is key and when we make these decisions that are difficult, it's because we're keeping a broader picture, we're keeping the technology and all of these things working smoothly. And while we would love to give you as many items as players want, we can't right now. When someone out there at some college invents a new kind of computer, and a new kind of internet that will handle the data stream and a new kind of computer to process it, we will give you more lots.

are Al Gore's kids at college yet?

Actually, I think I'll invent this so-called "new kind of internet".

I'll call it... Internet 2. Whattayathink? ^_^

Why can't dedicating one or two lots to our Yacht be a player option? That way if I want a 75 item drop limit I can use one lot and if I want a 150 item drop limit I can dedicate two lots. This seems like a simple solution; am I missing something here?
