As a doctor, I know that the quality of my resources effect the outcome. I think the same goes for the resources that go into building land vehicles? My question is, are all ships created equal notwithstanding the quality of their components?

yea...they will definetly effect the ship seing as they will have "stats"

Im not too sure about the stock models of starships

I think what goes into the base product wont count for shizzel when you start adding components.

Resource quality is extremely important, especially for the ship parts. You need high quality stuff for both subcomponents and the final combine or else you end up with crap. Lots of people are using grinding material to make their components thinking that SW is like DE or Tailor, and it's certainly not.

Notwithstanding the quality of the components ships built by an Ithorian will have a slight edge because of the racial bonus that they get in experimentation. Racial bonuses for the shipwright class are divided down the middle for the 2 new races. Ithorians get the bonuses in chasis and armor and one other thing off the top of my head and the Sullustrans get bonuses on the engines and the weapons.

To my knowledge no one has found any SEA's for shipwrighting yet or if they have they are being pretty closed mouthed about it.

The way experimentation is for SW right now that extra point in experimentation doesn't make much difference. A shipwright using high quality resources can give an Ithorian a run for his/her money easily.

After trying this out I can say that resources have veryLITTLE effect on chassi's but a veryBIG effect on components.
