PSA Number 1:
Are you attacking an NPC ship and it makes that buzz/beep sound when you hit it? That means it's someone's mission or duty mission mob. You can shoot at it all day, and you won't so much as dent the hull. Move along. (last night i sat at a dead stop watching two people wail away on the big pile of Disabled TIE's i had made. Didn't they know any better? Kinda funny.)
PSA Number 2:
Do not attack the corvette in kessle unless your help is asked. Or, at the very least , Do not attack a corvette if you can target the bridge, AT ALL. If you can target the bridge, lay off it.

I can understand point 1, but point 2 falls into the realm of somone claiming a spawn. Everytime i asked people to lay off a lair i was hunting i was always told " i dont see your name on it " or dont worry your gonna get the credits anyway". Does it hurt your feelings if somone wants to put a pop shot into the thing? At the very least he is gonna be targeted also by the blasters. I dont think it does anyone any harm by shooting at it. After all people cry that this is a MMoRPG .

Actually,
Heres why
Its basically a raid.
So you have a huge group there. People die. People get repaired and are trying to catch up with the group. Group waits for a minute to make sure everyone is back in sector before blowing up the bridge. Then you come in at the last minute, and blow it up. You just denied those people the mission.
Didnt happen to me, but ive seen it happen, and it really sucks.

Am I correct assuming the would-be corvette stealer would get the same amount of credit if he let the raid group blow the bridge? Or does he have to be in their group?

Interesting, Never thought of that scenario. Could be a problem. Unless everyone who took part in doing damage got credit for the kill, which is what i think is the case.

If your not there when the corvette goes boom (at least in the sector i think), you don't get credit, even if you were in the group who was doing it, even if you pumped alot of ordinance into the corvette.
I ran into a couple people in the group i went with who missed out earlier because they got waxed and had to repair before getting back into sector. There were rather adamanet about "impatient people". Can't say i blame them.
