Privateers can assist Imps, and I hear there's a way for Rebs to assist Privateers in their missions against Reb NPC's... is the a way for Imp's to help their fellow Privateer pilots who have helped them, in Privateer missions that have Imp NPC combatants?
Thanks for any assist

As far as I know, certain privateer paths are allied with the imperials and certain privateer paths are allied with the rebels. So,
One kind ofprivateer who is rebel on the ground can shoot rebels in space.
One kind of privateer who is imperial on the ground can shoot imperials in space.
But as far as I know, no rebel or imperial pilots can shoot their own faction in space, unless you are in a turret and then the alignment is probably based on the pilot of the ship.

I've seen 2 imps help in a 16 person group against the imp corvette! They drew fire (even tho it didnt hurt them) by firing on the vette/gunboats. Even called bstrike 3 on the vette LOL!!!

Well, if someone has a multiperson ship (not one of the Imps) they can be a gunner, but that is about it.
There are three Privateer sub-factions. Imperials can help with anyone who joined the Smugglers (Tatooine start) or the RSF (Naboo start) since those two groups attack other Smugglers and Rebels, respectively. However, if the person in question joined CorSec, they will be fighting Imps, and thus your Imp friends are of little to no use, as I understand it.

Smuggler alliance tier 4 involves killing gazillions of Imperials, so don't know if any Imperials will help there

there are more factions problems with Reb's in a group allso. one mission involves saving ships friendly to Privateers but they aggro on my Reb friends. I posted this problem to a CSR ticket, and basically got the message that i would need privateer help for it, that it was working as intended and wasnt going to be fixed.

Ground faction is different from space faction.
The faction issue is working as intended.
Privateers can pretty much attack any npc in space. As they are non-faction aligned regardless of what you are on the ground. Again lemme restate the first statement. Ground faction is different from space faction.
If your imperial on the ground that's one thing, but then you choose to be a privateer in space, that's another. According to the npc's your a privateer, they dont know the difference on the political difference of the person flying, just that your obviously a privateer based on your ship.
Same goes for a neutral becoming a Rebel pilot. A neutral person on the ground decides he wishes to help the Rebellion in space and therefore as far as the npc's are concern, your a target for every imperial ship out there as well as several privateer npc factions.
Now, in regards to:
Imperial Pilots attacking Imperial NPC ships - no
Rebel Pilots attacking Rebel NPC ship - no
Privateer Pilots attacking Imperial NPC ships - yes
etc etc etc.
Your faction on the ground is thrown out once you train for a particular pilot profession in regards to what you are in space. Again, have to agree with the CSR, working as intended.
One thing I do notice is that if you are neutral and you train in a faction align pilot profession (ie Rebel/Imperial) how you view other players on the ground changes. IE as Neutral all I see are blue player names. Once I trained as Rebel Pilot, rebels showed up purple even though I was still neutral.

Actually, CorSecs only have a few missions against Imperial NPCs (pretty much only in the first tier). Most of the missions are against Nym and Black Sun pirates.
