Ok my brother and I both have JTL, We are on Naboo Moenia star port and we group and I can see him. Now the kicker, we both launch into space in our respective ships and can not see each other even when waypoint findfriend says we are 15m from eachother. So we both fly to the Naboo starport, still can notsee each other. Now the weird thing he is in other room I go look at his screen and he sees a dog fight between tie fighters and X-wings around the starport, Meanwhile on my screen at the same spot all I see are 3 yatchs sitting there no dog fight to be seen or heard. So does this mean there are different instances in space? or are we doing something wrong? Please help we'd really like to fly missions togethor

Until you get your first tier 1 box, your in a "noob instance" as I call it. They did that to help prevent kill stealing on missions. Once you get that first box, you'll be able to join him in the normal space area.
