A guildmate found out this temporary fix for travelling to different planets. When you're in the starport, open up the travel terminal and hit escape. Then open up the starship terminal, choose your ship and select travel. TADA! It should now show up with the right planets and shouldn't think you're on Tatooine anymore.

And I was proud of myself for figuring this out. If only I had known about this workaround previously, I wouldn't have been launching into space and hyperjumping to planets. It takes just as long as waiting for the shuttle.

Has any Dev actually stated that not being able to use the travel button to go to remote planets is actually a bug? The way I understood it was that this was intentional. They wanted people to actually have to "fly" to the remote planets. I may be wrong though.

If you can travel instantly with the shuttles, then you definitely should be able to travel with your ship (without having to pay). I had been anticipating this with JTL because our city is on Talus and it is just a headache to wait for 4 shuttles from Dantooine to our city, even though they dropped the shuttle wait time.
So needless to say, I'm glad there's some kind of temporary fix for this until they get it working again.
