Thread: I'm using a microsoft sidewinder 2 and boost don't work

I have an MS Sidewinder Percision Pro 2 and by booster is mapped to the "B" button and Button Number 4 on my stick. To map the button just go into CTRL+O and select the Controls tab and then click the Keymap button (while in space do this). Go to the All tab and scroll down until you see Booster. Select Booster and click the Rebind button and press what button on the joystick you want to rebind it to.
The booster button works as a toggle. If you press it once it'll go until you have depleted all your energy from your booster. You can cut the booster by pressing the booster button a second time. The amount of energy you have in your booster is displayed in that green bar to the left of your throttle indicator.

Some sticks (all?) are preprogrammed, I have the logitect extreme 3d pro; hat switch lets you look around you (left, right and up, down), trigger fires blasters, sw2 fires missles, sw3 fires chaff, sw4 booster, sw5 forget but is programmed, sw6 targets other ships, sw7 targets and sw8 canels targetted ships.
9-12 are only ones not programmed I use sw9 to target engines.
I've never checked to see if switches 6 and 7 are T or Tab.

Is anyone having problems with boosting? I have a booster in my ships, y-wing, z95. I can't use the boost. I went to the keymap and made sure they were set right and they are. I was just wondering if anyone else has this problem? I hit the "B" key and the joystick button 5 and nothing happens. Am I doing something wrong?

Mine are default on joystick button four...but I have the force feeback 2

maybe i'm using it wrong? Can you use "b" or the joystick button? How exactly are you supposed to use it? I have the little green bar that's on the left next to my speed indicator. are you supposed to set the boost at all?
