Although I have been ace pilot since early December, I'm still not sure about a lot of things space, especially decay.
1) I just found out when you die, your chassis decays. Do your parts decay to?
2) Can the decay be repaired?
3) I always run Overload 3s for engine/reactor/weapons and capacitor because I heard overloads decay, is it true overload 3 decay is repairable? (I'm pretty sure since when I repair at the station it costs 20 credits to repair, haven't noticed any on my parts)
4) Does capacitor to shield shunt decay the parts? I use shunt 3 and if it doesn't decay I will have a friend program shunt 4 instead.
5) I know when you exit or die in deep space, everything is repair. Does that also mean chassis decay? Only time I die in space is in deep space, and my firespray is expensive to replace.
6) Does it really matter if your chassis hp decays? If your shields die, you are pretty much dead anyways.

1.) Yes, Decay comes with repairs. Hence if you repair, all your damaged items will decay a bit!
2.) No, it comes from the repairs
3.) Droid commands like Overcharges dont decay, they cause damage to the parts you overload, and when you repair that damage, then you get some decay.
4.) Not sure, i never use cap-2-shield cuz i prefer Shield Reinforcements instead.
5.) Yes that includes Chassis. You can allways (after being damaged) just jump to Deep Space, then jump back out and go repair... then there wont be decay, because repairs after Deep Space are Decay free. I think of it as an exploit though... I think they should implement that only if you really DIE in DS you wont get decay.
6.) It matters. Because ones your Chassis is to 0/0 the Ship is no longer usable and you gotta replyce it with a new one, wich is exeptionally expensive for Firesprays
Any more questions you need answered?

it seems like that the hitpoints of my ship decay eatch time i die, is there anyway to avoid this, like an ADK or something?
Its just that I gonna do the rebel Masterpilot mission soon and I think im gonna die a few times before succeding, and i don't want my precious Advanced X-Wing to suffer to badly from this

You'll suffer decay at a rate of 10% of the repaired armor and HP every time you repair. The only way to prevent that is to jump out to Deep Space whenever you're damaged, as unfortunately we don't have anything like an ADK in space.
However, the upside to our system is no part can ever decay below 10 armor and 10 HP. So while your chassis may see a lot of decay, it will never be destroyed completely.

That´s just Chassis... But i think the subcomponents (like Weapons/Shields) Still decay until unusablility.

It should be the same on components, too. Have you seen otherwise?

If that is so, then SoE made a big mistake.
there is still for example shields out there, wich were produced before SoE fixed the Shield Adjustment bug. Wich enabled Shipwrights back then to RE shields with more the 3k hitpoints front/back. I for one still own a shield with 3280/3280 from that time... I mean... I love that shield, but i did expect it to decay at some point (allthough i did try using a ADK on it
).
So I want to know for sure and will go into space tonight with an expendable ship (carrying expendable equipment) and let myself get downed till one of the components hits the unusability mark (or until i see it wont decay below 10). Then we will know for sure. I will post the outcome of this experiment here then afterwards.

So my Adv. X-Wing will never be destroyed, thats all i wanted

Kinda logical. Imagine having to do the friggin quest anytime you need to replace that quest chassis ![]()

so when the hitpoints go down, does the ship and its components actually become weaker?
or is it just a number?

That number is a measure of how many hits you can take, just like your shield HP and armor HP. So when your shields and armor are down, you start taking component hits and chassis hits at that point.
Which is why most pilots won't worry too much about decay - by the time you're taking chassis hits, especially in pvp, you're dead already. As long as you maintain good defenses, you can have a chassis at 10 and never know the difference.
