I have a standard y-wing and almost ready to be certified to fly a x-wing. I was wondering if there is a major difference between the two types of x-wings (heavy and standard). should i wait to spend my money on a heavy x-wing or should i start with the standard x-wing?

there is no "Heavy" X-Wing as far as i know. there´s only a Advanced X-Wing and that is a quest item. It needs you to have finished the quest in order to be able to use it (and pilot 4xxx).
The Standard X-Wing is around 100k mass, 3 weapons, one ordenance.
The Advanced X-Wing is 180k mass (since it´s a quest item, this never differs!)
Other then that the only difference is that you can have a Modification in the X-Wing... but none in the X-Wing advanced (unimportant).
Hence... the X-Wing Advanced is the better ship, but harder to get (because the mission involves disabling a vette and then protecting it from 3 tier 5 gunboats)

the reward ships u get are like the crafted deeds. u need to place the components yourself inside.

He means you can't put the Side strakes body modification on the Advanced X-wing. Other then thatit's fully customizable to your wishes.

Visual modification. Theydo havearmor/hp stats so they might save another component 50 points of damage. That's all.

Also, x-wing is Tier3 pilot certified, Advanced x-wing is Tier4, if I'm not mistaken.
