Now THIS is why I just bought this game. Man, oh man, if they actually pull that off, I'd go nuts!

Well, a Corvette isn't that much bigger than a Y-8 (only by 40m).
As long as we don't have Mon Cal cruisers, roaming around, how you're going to get dozens of people up there just to operate the thing is beyond me. Also, with a length of 400m, imagine how long it will take you to run to repair all the components
Entering the ship itself after a successful dock does sound like a nice idea though.

YES! I was going to post a topic with how I would love to have the ability to dock and kill anything on the ship, which would be easy to implement because of the corvette! But oh man I can't wait I need to Ace Pilot!!

Yea, thats why I have always wondered why they didnt make things like the Corvetts and Nebula frigates player owned. They are not THAT big, and would be awsome if they could be boarded by raiding parties of the opposite faction, and could initiate in space PVP. Would make JTL a LOT LOT LOT more fun. I mean owning SD's is really pushing it, and with the size of the space zones is nearly inpossible. But Corvetts? It could work well.

We'll just have to wait and see what they devs do with this. Hopefully its not just a damn quest thing, and you acctually get to keep the ships.

Sounds like fun. I wonder if it's just going to be corvettes? Or if they are going to add several types of capital ships?
There are quite a few Star Wars ships that would be small enough to work in the space zones. Including a couple that look like small star destroyers.

There will be heads on spikes to pay if the devs screw over shipwights.....................AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!
Cap ships is a great place to be pro-choice![]()
I doubt these will be any larger than vettes. Reality hits hard.

Alrighty, just got home from the Geekfest a few minutes ago, and the highlight of the night was a new game system the Devs have been working on. The video, which I am told was taken from actual gameplay, went a little something like this:
You fly to an ISD stationed in the Kessel system.
You fly INTO THE HANGAR.
INSIDE THE HANGAR, you are told that Lord Vader awaits you on the bridge.
You take the elevator to the bridge, pass a few familiar bounty hunters, and Vader gives you a mission - look out the window and capture the ship you see there.
You look out the window and see a CORELLIAN CORVETTE.
Take the elevator back down to the hangar bay, jump in your ship, then fly to the 'vette and dock.
Once on the 'vette, you destroy any resistance the Rebels may offer.
Then you go to the bridge.
Then you sit in the chair AND TAKE OVER THE CORVETTE.
From what I understand, from that point the 'vette's yours. They even showed their pilot taking it into hyperspace.
There is currently no timetable for this, but it's something the Devs are working on, and they refuse to comment on outside of the video they showed.
Capital ships are on the way, folks.
