can I still log in as a master shipwright and do shipwright stuff or will there be a conflict without JTL uninstalled? I no longer care about going into space, I just want to log in and check resourcesin my immediatearea, maybe craft a couple SW, and log out. Will I be able to do this without JTL? I have already mastered SW. Thanks for any help.

I'm not sure if there would be a conflict, I don't think many people have bothered to uninstall JTL after they've bought it. I mean, it doesn't cost any more per month to use JTL, and the chances of returning it are nil....

Why do you want touninstall JTL? If you don't mind me asking.

When you uninstall JTL - Retailon your computer, the next time you try to log in, you will face a 3+ hour download as SWG reinstalls JtL.

If you're talking about the Fileplanet free trial for JtL, well, you're going to end up in a situation I'd call "undefined". Shipwright relies on JtL for graphics and crafting logic. Without JtL, I'm not sure what would happen if you logged in.

I believe once you uninstall jtl and log back on you will either face one of these problems:

1)You will still have master sw but cant make any ships and other stuff related to jtl

2)When you log on to swg you might get an error and your computer might crash

3)Once you log in to swg you lose master sw forever until you reinstall jtl and grind the xp again

4)Just dont uninstall even if you dont like to fly around in space.

If your account is JtL enabled you will download all of the files for it. I tried this once and after I installed the base game, I launched and it took about 20mins over cable to download all of the patches needed for JtL. I don't think you can get rid of it either as it was a one time purchase, you don't need to go into space, but think about the money and time you save if you travel with your own ship rather than by public transportation.

How do you 'remove' JTL? There is no way once you have activated it!

I dont think you can "remove" JTL, there is a cd key you add to your account,
so the login server will always know you have a JTL enabled account.

The answer to the question is nothing. You got the CD to eliviate some of the download. Remove it, and you have to redo the download.

Not to mention, everyonehas mostofJTL installed, its just that not everyone is *gasp* JTL Enabled. In order to sell an expansion, you have to make sure that every part of the expansion that interacts with the original game can be handled by the original game alone.

Non-JTL people can see the 2 new races and the new terminals, and the new clothes. They are not allowed to train Pilot skills or Shipwright skills (a simple flag thats turned off for them), but they can see the people with those titles.

The only thing required tobecome a Shipwright is to have JTL Enabled. If there is an actual way to disable JTL, then you may have a problem. But I don't think you can. And as far as the graphics goes, the only graphics that non-JTL people don't have are the ones for Space and the ships and stuff....since they are notable to go there, why download it to them?

Long story short. Nothing, except a longer download time when you login.

Correct!

i ran into this problem when i got JTL for christmas. Accidentally, and moronically, i installed the expansion, then registered it to my ALT! When i finally got in contact with a CSR over live chat, he informed me that there was currently no way to remove JTL from an account once its been registered, that i would have to buy a whole new copy of JTL if i wanted to play it on my main! Boo hoo!

Are you sure it's 3 hour? It took me only 30/40 minutes to download it sinceI didn't bother to use the CD.
