Thread: We've captured an Imperial Frieghter

I like how not every one has the same ships, it makes it more enjoyable to fly around. However I see a few ships that are really nice, and I would love to have one, and to fly it around. The only problem is that I am an Imperial Pilot.

The main response to this, and I know everyone is going to say it so I'll save you the time typing it out "Well, why don't you just go up that pilot profession. I'm tired of everyone complaining that they want something for nothing. blah blah blah and what ever else you want to write". Now that that is over....

In RotJ the Rebels stole a frieghter and a Rebel piloted it. Han was piloting an Imperial craft as a Rebel. What I am sugesting is at Master Pilot, at any faction you are, you get to pick one ship from the others that you want to fly, so as an Imperial you can fly a B-Wing, imagine the RP of this, you can then have spies. If someone were to do a scan of your ship they would find out you were an Imperial. You still wouldn't have all of the people flying all of the same ships, because everyone would have a different ship that they would like to fly.

And also on that note, I was flying through the Yavin sector and I came across 2 Rebel spies, and you want to know what they were flying? They were flying TIEs.

That would be quite cool, but i think something else that would be nice to add a lot of misc faction ships, that everyone can fly, so we all have the faction ships which we cant change, but a lot of ships we can all share, as the ships now are pretty limited.

I just wish master pilots could FLY any MP ship. You can only OWN the correct ship for your pilot tree, but if you are in one, you can man the controls.

Seriously, FFS.... Did HAN have to grind IMP Pilot to Fly that Lambda Shuttle or Not?

I agree, but using Han for an example isnt too convincing. He was in the Imperial Navy for a little while, wasnt he ?

Why not make this a smuggler ability? Sounds like a useful and appropriate ability for an underserved profession and a way to link the ground game with the space game....

Yes, but then he was a freelance pilot and then he was a rebel pilot. So he was the first one who did all of the piloting professions. Also he didn't have to give up his YT-1300 when he became a rebel pilot.

i think that the idea is kinda not interesting... i meen what would the outcome really be.. ? everyone would go spy and then the game would be ruined even more.

I thought this thread was going to be about something else - boarding freighters!

I tried it the other night, by picking a random (non imperial) freighter with a cargo, disabling it, and boarding it. On-screen it said something like 'cargo transferred' but there wasn't anything new in my inventory, or anything on my ship details. I was piloting a Tie Fighter, so maybe it's because it has no cargo space.. has anyone had any luck stealing cargo? Anyone tried it in a YT1300?

(sorry to threadjack)

on topic, I don't mind not being able to fly rebel or freelance ships. As an imperial pilot, I'd rather fly a ship designed and built for war by warriors, rather than the shabby hippy ships the rest of you lot drive.
