You're not going to be PvPing much until you're master, and PvP is when you need high speed and handling. With a good engine and engine overload 2 or 3, a TIE bomber can pack quite a punch, and will serve you well for your grind...far better than an interceptor ever could. Learning the flight style also gives you a better feel for how to deal with other bombers, and is good preparation for flying a TIE Oppressor at master (while it's not a bomber, and doesn't handle poorly, some of the nuances are identical, such as throttle optimal zones).

I got both, so pick an Interceptor. I went flying with my Bomber over Tatooine and it took me 3 minutes to kill a Tier 1.

Only Rebels need more mass, *real* Imperial pilots make due with the little ships.

Negative :-p. I flew an Interceptor for the longest time before trying out a bomber...just to try it. I was able to put in two weapons that each did around 2k-4k max damage, a heavy, excellent loot engine, and good reactor. With the addition of some droid programs, I was killing tier 2s in one hit, tier 3s in two, and having no trouble with any tier 4s, including A-wings.
It's a different flight style to get used to, like I said, but it can be brutally effective, and allow you to deliver far more firepower. I had that beast running about 850 typical cruising speed, with a +30 top speed booster on top. Turns are quick and responsive, but still have a tendency to keep going farther than you want them to. Still, it's relatively easy to make the adjustment, and for the pilot grind, being able to bring extremely heavy firepower to bear is invaluable.

I meant that because the Tier 1 kept flying over me so I had to keep following it.

drop to65%( /throttle .65 )spd and trail on arc ya gotta ventually hit both front and back stuff but a consistant shot at ship negates time(applies to any not just tier one when driving a poorly turning ship)
