And like the Sorosuub 3000, it should be non-combat and invulnerable. See this link:

The Naboo Royal Cruiser. Are you royalty? Didn't think so.

That ship (as well as all of the naboo snub fighters) were made with a special kind of metal that only naboo royalty had access to. It wouldn't make much sense to make a ship like that widely available to everyone.

Lol. Well, SOE has been sacrificing the continuity for the sake of fun....

But if you want to be a stickler about it, the mirror finish was reserved for royalty. So, no reason versions couldn't be done with finishes other than the chromium one as a non-royalty version.

They should give the Artisan a shot at something. If you notice in thebazaar there is a section for Asteroid. Perhaps the Novice Pilot of every class could acquire a Mining Freighter. Have it come with a small man sized tug that could be used for travelling to an asteroid, taking a chunk and then bringing it back to the Mining Freighter for storage and eventuall mineral extraction one you reach home (perhaps an additional tool would be need at home to complete the extraction). Have the more dangerous areas spout higher quality resources (ie. Risk vs Reward). It could be interesting for a miner to have to rely on other player patrol craft to dissuade pirates and other riff-raff.

And just about all those classic ships from the movies were combat ships....

I worked for West End Games for three years doing ship profiles for the Star Wars RPG, there's more than a few great civillian and military ships missing from this game.

Cool! Got some links to pics of the civillian ones?

On of the major missing civillian ships is the Rebel Frieghter (not it's technical name), that shell shaped ship from Empire Strikes Back when they evacuated Hoth. I'm surprised it didn't go in.

The Corellian Corvette is, by design, a civillian ship. It's like today's HUMVEE - you can use it for military or civillian use.

The Corellian Gunship and the Lancer - both big anti-starfighter platforms.

The Carrack Cruiser and the Strike Cruiser would be nice too, along with the Escort Carrier - but these are all capitol warships.

The Bulk Frieghter would be pretty cool, as would the Imperial Galleon.

I'll see if I can dig up old specs or scans, but most of these can be found in the Imperial or Rebel Sourcebooks by WEG.

Well, given how all the current ships are combat ones (with one exception), think the social/roleplayer folks need a little loving to get them going in JTL. And social players aren't gonna want to fly alone so ships for them should primarily be multi-player. First one I'd like to see roll out is the Naboo Royal Cruiser. It's a beauty. And like the Sorosuub 3000, it should be non-combat and invulnerable. See this link:

I think modeling anything from the new movies would be a big mistake, since they suck. There's about a dozen great ships to model before that one - classic ships from the movies and the role playing game.
