Thread: Not to be rude, but who came up with the idea of having to do certain missions before training?

It seems to me that its pretty lame that I have the 200k combat xp neccessary to train and yet I can't because I need to do a mission which would be a heck of a lot easier to do IF I could train the skill that I already qualify except that the dumb trainer won't teach me until I've done the mission.

I'm sorry, but thats just dumb.

Just a headsup, all tier 3's don't require any xp, they train for free. It may say you need 200k xp, but ya don't.

So does that mean that after each set of missions I can train a skill?

I guess thats better but its still annoying having 4 different missions sets linked togther before I can return to base.

So what's your hurry? So you can get to master and then complain there's no content?

I love missions, and mission based advancement. Best thing to happen to MMOG genre in a long time.

Agree to an extent. What I don't like is having to get both the xp AND the missions count. It should be one of the other. What I also don't like is getting killed halfway through a mission set and having to do the whole set over again when I have 200 bf and a blacked out HAM bar which I have to get healed first. It slows the game down and makes it very annoying.

As far as becoming master pilot; I just want to reach that level so I can get the nova courier. I will admit though, its nice to be on the upper end of JTL playes, since I was way behind on the regular game.

If your elligable, the Sorosub is a nice ship to tide you over, although no combat abilites , its still a fun ship

I wonder, though. Can players with a higher pilot skill train lesser pilots if they have the xp on hand? I'm 2322, and having the ability to field an Interceptor on my current mission point would help.

nope. you have to finish the missions. get some high level friends to help you with the mission.

and having missions as a way to gate advancement is the best thing that has happened to this game.

No doubt
This game has become a grinders haven of people wanting instant gratification. What happens is instead of like the launch of the game were everyone was so proud to get their first set of bone armor gloves and walk 2km to their mission. Not saying their bad but you have People who are upset if they cant get to master without some sense of a roleplaying game. These comments arent directed at the poster by no means. Just at the general public who are upset at the grind but are the first ones to brag that they grinded their way up, only to get bored and complian about all the stuff they missed on the way up. You know what i meen having a souped up Z-95 going against all odds and coming out on top. Or Finding that awesome engine to put in your TIE fighter that makes it so fast you can turn on a dime and still have to slow down to keep from passing your next victim. This goes to those people, try having fun while you go up. You will find you will remember all those scrapes in our lowley Tier 1 ships with super equipment rather then Slaughtering some poor sap in your Level 10 equiped B-Wing. Trust me.

I disagree. The trainer wants you to prove yourself. Take any content you get. Good for the dev's for making it tough
