Im mightily pissed off right now, specifically, at droid programming.

1. Trading of programs has been broken/nerfed, you can no longer trade programmed chips. Well, you can, but the recipient wont be able to add them to their datapad, so they're pretty useless. Also, Rebels are sitting pretty once again, because they use droids, you can trade a droid over, have another faction program it the new commands and then trade it back, try the same thing with Flight Computers and guess what happens? "You cannot trade a Flight Computer after it as been initialised by a pilot".

2. What the hell is wrong with Engine Overload 4!? I made ace today, so, happy as larry, I generate my new TIE Oppressor, spend about three hours finding a shipwright who can help me kit it out, eventually get everything loaded to my satisfaction and launch. Now, to get in armour and MKV shields, I had to compromise and keep using Advanced blasters, as opposed to Experimentals, "no problem" I thought, "I can crank on Weapons Overload 4 to get more damage". How wrong was I.

Ill clarify: a couple of days ago, I looted a reactor in Kessel. I thought it was rather nice, but most shipwrights Ive talked to said it was f**king amazing, 40k mass and 29k energy generation. 29k, of which Im currently using 14k with a full loadout. So I launch to help out a mate, and activate Engine Overload 4, and everything except my engines went offline!. What the hell is this, are you SERIOUSLY trying to say that an additional 10% speed boost over Engine Overload 3 takes up MORE than 15k reactor energy!? The reactor in my old TIE Advanced was 15k generation rate, and I ran EO3 and WO3 at the same time, without the Reactor Overload program!

So then I thought "well, that sucks, but at least I can cruise at 925 with my 102 speed engine, I can whack on Weapons Overloadand out-damage NPCs". WRONG. I activate Weapons Overload for ONE of my blasters, and the other goes offline along with my countermeasure launcher!

This is further compounded by point 1, as I now have no hope of obtaining Reactor Overload 4 so I can at least run ONE program.

How is it that a reactor thats 50% better than any MKV I can buy crafted cant even run ONE level 4 droid program?

I don't have engine overload or weapon overload 4 so I don't know about how much more energy they take up, however, you can still trade droid programs. Have the other person program it onto a chip, and put the new programmed chip into your inventory. Then go to your datapad and select program droid (for your flight computer) and then the chip that is in your inventory will show up on the left hand side. Select it, transfer it, and it will ask if you are sure you want to do this b/c the transfer will only go one way. You say yes, and poof! you have reactor overload 4. Hope this helps.

all the 4's have taxed the system. basically it is the equivalent to throwing everything to whichever system you are going to. also, i seemed to have no problems trading datadisks with people, i gave someone a set of overload 3's and they were able to program them just fine, i also was able to grab the shield sets from them allright.

I don't use overload 4's at all ... they are really useless for the most part.

I can run engine and weapon overload 3 just fine.

But when I try Engine overload 4 it shuts everything down.

This is with 14k reactor output, only 9k of it being used, and reactor overload 3 running.

Weapon overload 4 works without shutting everything down, but when it's on the damage it does is only slightly higher than a normal shot, and I get a wopping 3 shots before my 1k energy cap is drained, that's one weapon 3 shots. at that rate I get far higher damage from normal blasts, which I can fire near endlessly without overload.

Weapon/Engine overload 4's are totally screwed up ... and Bstrike2 doesn't seem to do squat either, I just called in Bstrike2 on a tier 1 enemy ship ... I got 4 Interceptors and 2 Bombers .. it took them so long to kill one single tier 1 enemy that when they left I was ready to call another strike allready.

bstrike 2 is broken as hell. i called a bstrike on a gunship in kessel just to see what it did, they flitted around for a coupla minutes then jumped out, leaving the gunship at 90% shields.

I'm not positive, but I believe I have the math figured out for Engine Overload 1 through 4. When you run one of those programs, you'll see an effeciency number appear in your engine's stats. For the four levels of overload, the numbers are as follows...

  • Engine Overload 1 = 0.7 Efficiency

  • Engine Overload 2 = 0.5 Efficiency

  • Engine Overload 3 = 0.3 Efficiency

  • Engine Overload 4 = 0.1 Efficiency

Anyways, the way that number works, I think, is that you divide your engine's energy usage by the efficiency number to get how much energy it will need while overloaded. The way this works out is that for Overload 1 your engine will use about 1.43 times as much energy as normal. For Overload 2 your engine will use 2 times as much energy as normal. For Overload 3 your engine will use about 3.33 times as much energy as normal, and for Overload 4 your engine will use 10 times as much energy as normal. As you can see the jump in energy usage from Overload 3 to Overload 4 is huge. At 10 times the energy requirement of normal, you're going to need one heck of an uber reactor to be able to handle it. For example, if you're using the Lvl6 reward engine, you're going to need18900 worth ofEXTRA energy if you want to run Engine Overload 4. (As a comparison, you only need 4900 extra energy if you want to run Engine Overload 3.)

Overload 4's don't use that much extra energy. Rather, they have more of a danger, or chance,of frying your other components. I use nothing but 3's, and it works just fine.

I think your problem with the droid program chips is you are trying to get them to your datapad which you don't do anymore now you open up the droid interface and select it there, you get a message and must click yes.
