Hi there,

Is there the possibility to bind the "Show cockpit frame ON -OFF command"

to a key without manually enter inthe option menù (CTRL+O) and flag it????

This feature could be very useful expecially in the heat of a dogfight, expecially

when flying imperial ships where the cockpit frame is large and prevents a

good field of view.

If I remember correctly there was a similar key command in the old good

TIE FIGHTER game from the Lucas Arts, why dont have one here????

Any thoughts???

I don't think I'll ever turn mine off, no matter what ship I'm in. It adds so much to the 'realism' of the dogfighting. Not being able to see everything I want to almost causes me to have to look and work harder towards pinning that enemy down.If I do want to get a better look at a ship, asteroid or nebula I'm flying past I will just roll the mouse wheel back behind my ship.

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, How can we do this and not make another EQ? We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen."

If I turn my cockpit frame on, my frame rate drops from 22-30 to 8-3... (Although I havent tried it for about a week or so...)

Also in the ground based game the FPS goes from 20+ to about9-5 if I open my inventory, I know those spinny-roundy icons must use CPU horsepower, but 60%+ of my system?

(Using a 2.4GHz P4, 768MB ram, nvidia 5600FX 256MB, all the latest patches, directx 9.0c, defragged hard-disk. Also before playing I get the task manager up in windows xp pro and *clean* all the running processes (such as realplay, quicktime, ipod quackery and other guff). I tend to disable virus checking and zonealarm too...)
