Thread: Storm Trooper searches on puppy Imperial Pilots

I have seen it happen twice now(Tempest, Kadaara, Naboo)that friends new Imperial Inquisition Pilots running from starport to the starter pilot trainer were searched by Storm Troopers en route. Because they were happily running to get their first mission and starter ships and did not stop in time to allow the search, they were fined with 50 negative Imperial Faction points! This meant they could not fly missions because you are grounded until you have gotten rid of the negative xp. From a role-playing point of view this is funny , but for aspiring pilots this can be extremely frustrating. A solution would be to leave out ST searches in the direct route from starport to trainer, or let the ST chase a bit farther so that the search continues inside the building...

The ST searches are great, even I say that and I get flagged overt 100% of the time by em (much killing ensues).

Things like this are desperately needed in SWG and need to stay in the game.

You need to get your newbie pilot friends to learn how to follow orders from their fellow imperials.

I can see how it could be annoying but we really need these little touches.

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, How can we do this and not make another EQ? We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen."

Looks innocent at the suggestion that any imperial would ever carry anything illegal and get caught

As the stormies that search me must be blind as at last count in my backpack i had a set of sliced armour and umpteen sliced weapons. 9 times out of 10 i get waved on my way might be the higher rank you get the less likely the stormies will risk offending you as a quick slap soon brings them to their senses and they realise the error of their ways

At least for me personally it is a non issue other than getting knocked off my AV. Last night going to a ground destroy mission I was searched and got the standard:

"Sorry sir I did not recognize you we will continue about our business"fom the stormtroopers that stoped me. Thing was they dismounted me right next to a hive of quenkers. I took one hit and the troopers opened fire and slaughtered the offending quenkers. I thought it fitting that they killed the creatures that hit me being they were the ones who stopped me from my task. I enjoy this part of the game and I do not think it needs changed.

Of course if I were not as high in the imperial army/navy I may find it a bit more frustrating. In the above case where you loose faction just walk back to the group and let them do thier jobs. Someone has to bust the scum of the universe.

Supposedly yelling "Glory to the Empire!" invalidates the search. Makes them say "this one's clean."

I haven't tried it myself, but then again, I don't need to.

I should've known the Devs would put in something to completely invalidate the only real "crackdown" part of the crackdown.

Personnly i find it annoying. I'm not advocating it to be removed, i just find it annoying is all.

But, theres the beauty in being a ground neutral rebel pilot. I can totally ignore the jackbooted facists without a care in the world.
