Thread: Epulse changes with tonight's (11.29.04) patch Bug or by design?

Tonight the Epulse skill was rather drastically changed and these changes are not noted in the patch notes anywhere. I am hoping that it is just a bugged database value that is causing the problem but I will summarize the issue below.
I am currently a 3443 Privateer pilot. I have Epulse1 and Epulse2. I was horribly disappointed with Epulse2 a week ago when I took it over my Rikh ship. Epulse2 didn't seem to do any more damage than Epulse1 and it seemed to do quite a bit of damage to me frequently. I decided to keep using Epulse1 until I could get 3 at master level. Now...Epulse1 is a tier 3 skill and Epulse2 is tier 4. Using Epulse1 I used to be able to fly into a mass of tier 1 ships and kill anything within 500 meters of me with one blast. Tonight, however, everything has changed.
It seems that the damage has been horribly decreased. Now, I cannot kill tier1 ships using Epulse1 OR Epulse2. Epulse1 takes a tier 1 ship's shields down to about 80% while Epulse2 takes tier 1 ship's shields and armor down to 50%. It also appears that the radius has been decreased from 500 meters to about 100 meters because I was within 500 meters of 8 tier 1 ships and only 1 of those ships received any damage at all when I blew Epulse1.
At first I thought this was a horrible nerf but now I am thinking it is probably just a bug. I came to this conclusion because changes to Epulse were not mentioned in any of the patch notes and Epulse1 and 2 were by no means overpowered skills. I hear that Epulse3 may have required some tweaking but Epulse1 was fine and Epulse2 was horribly weak compared to 1. I was just wondering what all you fellow privateers think about the changes tonight. Design or bug?
