Thread: Astromechs/Flight Computers and the Datapad

I use a number of droids. A probot Battle droid, a Multitask Droid, a Harvesting Droid and sometimes a Bomb Droid.

Now last I heard there was a 5 droid maxium for the datapad.

That wasn't a problem as 1 astromech still leaves a spot open for any Bomb Droids. But now I see that A wings need a flight computer.

So my question is do Astromechs and Flight Computers use up a droid slot? Has the droid maxiumum been increased to account for this if they do?

Droids count flight comps dont at least they dont seem too. I had to delete an old merchant barker for a flight droid. But I have an alt who is full on droids and had 4 flight comps in datapad.

Well isn't that unbalanced in itself then because rebels need a droid and Imps don't?

Also can you move the flight computer from ship to ship like the droids?

A droid can be used in all your droid capable ships. All you have to do is make sure the droid is loaded/assigned to that ship - currently Y Wing variants, and X Wings require astromechs.

Yes, you can.

Don't flight computers take up one droid space as well?

Well not really. Droids can have many other uses where all a flight comp does is store the special chips.

Maybe its 5 of each but currently i have a char with 5 droids and 4 flight comps. I can delete some lower flight comps for space but i like having different comps for different loadouts.

No, flight comps don't take up driod space, so you can have as many of them as your like as long as you have space in your datapad.

Yup, I have one single R2 unit loaded into both my Y-wing and my Z-95, for engine overload 3. It works great.

Well if you don't use them you won't be able to solo any missions and in PvP you will die if your opponent is using one.

What makes you think other factions' ships require them?

and acutally we (as rebels) need both if we are going to use them. Y-wings, A-wings and b-wings (oh and the nova courier) use flight computers. Y-wing (also included here, they can use both), x-wings, and teh Z-95 use droids. (z-95 unconfirmed). so really we can use both depending on the ship
