Thread: Am I the only one that finds turret ships useless?

For PvP and PvE, a pilot in another ship instead of a turret is MUCH more useful then another guy in your ship firing one gun, that is very hard to aim. Anyone agree?

If you get people that haven't been behind a turret before then I completely agree. But if you get a good crew you can do alot of damage in a MP ship.

I also find them very useful if you get a ship on ur tail and u cant shake em. A couple blast from the turets should drive it away or maybe destoy it.

I personally find it hard to use the turrets and I also think you can do more damage in multiple ships. However, multiplayer ships are more fun. I think.....and I want to try this sometime, if an entire crew got on voice chat and practiced the same roles in a mp ship for a week or so, they could be a force to be reckoned with. The only problem is every shot the npc thinks about shooting at you hits dead on, makes a fun time trying to keep shields up and in pvp, no amount of shields and armor compare to maneuverability.

I often took guildmates who are low on tier and need xp in my MP ship, and now often take em in my Kryat, just go to deep space kill some gunboats and they are capped and stop complaining about getting xp 
But for pvp its dumb, as i thing the whole pvp thing is just very bad... Managed to kill a Star Destroyer with my YT-1300 today (okay, was nearly dead...) but one player opressor killed me before i did even see it shooting.
Hope they some day fix pvp. Sure its important to have a fast ship and be a little target, but i would like the dogfights to last longer than the faction of a second. Take my big ship apart, but let myself the time to scream, let the gunners try to get some shots, and it would be cool if someone could enjoy the fun of beeing burnt by the conduits when trying to repair. Now its just "Oh there is a tie coming!" "Were?" "Bang!" That would make pvp more fun.

It has been asked for, and I hope it gets implemented, really big powerful shields. They would require an uber reactor and they would have something like 20k shields (with a mediocre recharge) but take 200k mass (or something like this) so most ships can't use it, except the MP ships. Just need to prod the devs until they give us something like this. Others have proposed multiple shields on a MP ship (so they are addative).
