introduce a ranking system for PvP in space, give the ranking some teirs with special textures and paints , the rarer the texture the higher the rank u need to be, if u dro rank your paint flakes off...

To use Pilot Prestige to buy special textures from Recruiters/Factional Space Stations would be a nice touch to Space Combat, since Prestige points are really worthless at the moment: Most Master Pilots have millions of them, and they are only used to get into Deep Space.

i would love decals and/or paint/visible ship modifications for top PVP pilots for each faction. a leaderboard with a visible graphic, or heck, even ship (providedthe mechanic was bug freeand in schematic form) for the top tier pilots.
perhaps wearable clothing as well?
JTL needs a PVP ranking board really bad.

Perks purchased with Prestige would be a wonderful addition. I've always thought of an NPC in Starports similar to the Player Event Perk NPC in Hotels.
PvP rankings/killboard/etc would be welcome by me as long as there was no obvious reason to abuse the system. For that reason, I would hate to see perks attached to ranking or killcount, as that would simply lead to abuse.
Can you imagine the mess that result if PvP rankings on the Ground were tied to perks? The Jedi fightclubs would be nothing compared to the mass abuse.

Since at the point of going into PvP space, you can pick who you want to fight for...
