I was struggling to find any good use for my ARC than I decided to put 118 speed engine on it with 49 speed booster. And what a combo it was, with reactor overload and EO4 you go over 2k speed. And unlike a-wing or TIE advanced I still had enough room for 1900 shields and level 9 gun. Makes very interesting ship, if you help people with vette or any escort missions itsa perfect ship. You can outrun anything and you still have enough firepower and protection to hold your own. Hope this will give you another use for ur arc.

As a rule ... i try to get 110 speed engines into my ships where possible (i prefer to put some of my experimentation points into ypr).

I seem to remember a guide being written by 'Pyschobunny' or something along those lines, explaining how the gun turrets can be used to hit certain larger ships from areas where they're helpless to defend.
And on top of that, it looks sweet.
So it has its uses, but it's definetly not a solo fighter.

As a rule, I prefer PYR over Top Speed, as PYR tends to be much more useful in combat. RE'd Level 6, 8, and 10 Engines (with Rewards included when possible) have performed very well, as they tend to have PYR values running around 70, 75, and 80 respectively.
Being able to far outrun anything that attacks you is certainly useful, but personally, I try to spend more time fighting than retreating.
