It is a reward in itself. It is the JTL Vet reward and takes the place of no other reward. Get it. there's no reason no to as far as that goes.
2)Can I claim it without having to claim the recent vet rewards (3 month 6 month 12 month)?
Not sure about this as I just got all mine at once. Possibly you can by choosing the remind me later option, but that may mean for all rewards. In either case, claim your rewards. No reson not to that I can see unless you aren't sure which you want at this time.

I'm not sure why I ever claimed mine. Just sits in the datapad. If you are big into guilds and group play, it is well worth getting.
But, like someone else already stated, there isn't a draw back to getting it. Doesn't effect anything else, just a little reward from the devs for sticking around.

well, it is of cause a reward we got with JTL, before we had no space ships 
, but youraccount has to be 180 days or moreold to get it

Does your JTL account have to be 180 days old, or does it just need to be your SWG reg account?
I just came back to the game,got JTL and ROTW with the total conversion thing, and was able to claim all the other rewards (selfpwr harv., 30K kit, No decay thing) but If I can get that yacht, that would be awesome!
Even if you can only have two POI ships, I'd say still get it, since the deed is infinite. So, if you would want a different ship and you have reached your max capacity, simply destroy the Luxury Ship (you can't redeed it).

I personally have 3 POB ships. A mining, a YT-13 and a Yacht.
I also have RotW to get the 6 ship slots.
