As part of my RP on the Starsider server, my character is using his Luxury Yacht to entertain wealthy merchants, so just this afternoon I got a load of furniture (curtsey of Paintball for a very reasonable price) and kitted it out. It now has a caberae (sp?) area where the bar is, teh balcony overlooking it is a VIP area with comfier fluffy chairs, the observation deck up top is set up to be a romantic hideaway with 'loveseats', and in the belly of the ship is a hot tub (i kid you not). To top it all off its got a nice lick of paint and been christened the 'Lunar Dancer'.

Just one problem, I had no wealthy merchants, and I was weeks probably months away from that stage of my RP. So what to do?

Well the only thing I could think of was to high tail it to Mos Eisley and stand outside the Cantina yellingthe following:

"Come aboard the wonderous Lunar Dancer! Now Boarding for Lok! Enjoy a drink or two, or a romantic view of the stars, perhaps even a spell in the hot tub! Meet ouside Mos Eisley Cantina for boarding!"

I didn't get many takers (just 3 in fact), but it was enough to make an impression. I spent the whole time flying the ship but I was chatting with the travellers and watching the reactions in the spatiel chat:

"OMG a hottub!", "This thing is HUGE!" "Oh wow, whats this!" etc.

I even got to say, "strap yourselves in I'm making the jump to lightspeed" legitematly.

The reason I'm posting this is because while people may rant back on forth about whether the CU is good or bad, I had more fun in this single moment than the last three weeks of what you come to expect from the game, and it was totally immersive.

What other game offers something on that scale? I think I'll be sticking with SWG for a long time to come...
