Thread: PvP Damage reduction BY or TO 25%?

The notes say 'by 25%'. If that's NOT a typo, then lets reiterate:

Level 8 Weapon Damage: 2600-3600 Damage
Level 9 Shield: 2500 front/back
Level 9 Armor: 2200 front/back

Hit of 3600 reduced by 25%: 2700 Damage -> Shield down with one hit, Armor down with one hit
Hit of 3600 reduced to 25%: 900 Damage -> Shield down with 3 hits, Armor down with three hits.

So, what reduction was really built in? BY 25% or TO 25%?

All I can say is...

roflmao

Ok... I feel much better now.

I hope it's to 25% cause other wise there will be no change in PvP. Heck, looking at those stats though, I'm not even sure if 25% will be enough... but we'll see.

it is by 25%. they should have just BALANCED the armor and the weapon stats. would have made everything that much easier.

true. Why they always put us and the NPCs onto a different system though I'll never understand.

Well I would prefer they lower it down slowly like this than drop it too fast. I have seen games do a knee jerk change that then they have to undo because they went to far the other direction.

When you did 1000 points of damage you will now deal 750. It's so a subtle reduction that it sounds stupid for almost 100% of people who have tried PvP.

But remember... this patch will change loot quantity/quality (better shields) and will improve some of the SW-made components (faster engines and better armours).

To make it brief, I believe PvE will be easier and PvP will be a bit better/longer. But It won't be fixed at all. It's patched.

Ok... didn't realize that defensive systems were getting a boost too. That should help, but we'll see what the final outcome is like.

90 €, 120 $ aprox. (galaxies+JTLS)

15 $ per month

Forced PVE missions to reach PVP.

A green R2D2, every day telling me "plz, i want go home, i have a wife and 2little robots waiting for me at home, let me teach you your f****ng profession, i beg youuuu", i would like to kill him but i dont like sandwich combat, killingthings just pressing buttons, i`m a fps player, and i only like to kill or die by twich-skill.

Everything just to reach a funny PVP...i hope i can fight during 1 minute or more when i have access, and a nice ship to PVP.

Not my favourite stile but PVE isn´t bad, you or your enemy need some time to win the battle,¿ but you are talking about 2 sec? , i´m scared, if i see its true, i will cancel my subscription until it´s fixed for sure, thats ridiculous.

By 25% or to 25%, seems still not enough, i dont want to mess with %, it´s dev`s job, i justwould like to seemore than 1 minute fights, and skill based, not better ships always win.

It says:

Space Loot

  • Crafted and looted droid interface stats are now tiered appropriately---low level crafted items have higher command speeds, and high level items have lower command speeds.
  • Increased level of loot drops for space
  • Increased odds of dropping tier-appropriate loot for space
  • Chassis Broker will now buy looted space components from any player

Profession: Shipwright

  • Increased possible max armor stats for Mark IV and V Durasteel Plating
  • Ship Components don't display yaw, pitch, or roll acceleration values, since these are determined by the chassis, not the engine
  • Existing equipment factories that would not take shipwright schematics should now accept them
  • Moved missile and countermeasure launchers to separate categories in the crafting tool

Hm, ok, since one has to rebuild armor every few hours/days anyways thanks to an insane decay, that wouldn't matter much. I'll just assume that the armor will be like 2500-3000 for Mark V, provided the correct resources. Ok, that makes killing the armor require 1.5 hits to be dust...hooray. And that's only for multiperson ships, since noone else can carry that armor in their fighters (maybe in bombers). Same goes for looted higherlevel armor.

So, since no official felt the need to reply to this (this question was asked earlier when the patch went to TC), i guess we can assume they mean 'by', and once again stand united and shout: Thanks for nothing!

Yep, as I said before, 75% is a joke of reduction.
