Hi, i have tryed doing searches on the forums to find the answers to these few questions, havent had any luck though.
I am just about to start my career as a pilot - and i was wondering which side to join, i am a rebel but i feel that i would rather join "The Privateers", more precisely "The Smugglers Alliance" ( for no aparent reason, i am not a smuggler, i just like the name ).
Being in a rebel guild, what are the pros and cons of becoming a privateer?!?
many of my fellow guildies have chosen to become alliance pilots, will i be able to join them in guild hunts, both PvE wise (hunting TIE's for instance) but also PvP wise?!?
Will i be left out of some of the activities my guildies can do, as alliance pilots?!?
any input is very appreciated!
Thx

Pros and cons of privateer ? Diferent ships. The Dunelizard is IMO a superb ship, the Ixiyen is not bad ... the rest I personally don't care for. Only the YT1300 at master - i.e. no B-wing equivalent, but you do get the YT1300 which is cool !! :-D
As part of the smugglers alliance, at various points in time you will be working for Lady Valarian or Jabba, so won't be able to attack those ships at those times, which may limit your guildunt slightly.
Also - most rebel ships will apear as yellow dots (as will imperial) so there is a chances of joining in a dogfight and hitting a rebel NPC by mistake and getting wasted by both sides (believe me - it happens !!)
If you are in the rebel faction on the ground, but privateer in space, you can declare as rebel for space PvP ....
hope that answers some of the questions ....

That was excactly what i was looking for, i was afraid that i somehow couldnt declare my ground faction (rebel btw) in space, but it appears that i can.
I didnt want to risk ending up not being an asset on guildhunts but according to what you say, it will be at an absolut minimum, meaning if i join The Smugglers Alliance i cant attack Jabba's ship for instance....But what the heck thati can live with.
Thx

an option would be corsec.
they are rebel aligned (rebels are white, imps are red).
when flying with rebels its might be handy not being able to shoot other rebel ships. it should happen that you accidently aggro one of those leaveing you without protection by your rebel mates. (rebels cant damage rebel ships, even when they have aggro through the group)

If you want to be both Privateer and rebel aligned you should join CorSec, Smugglers Alliance are completely neutral so can be troublesome at times when you accidently hit nearby rebel NPC and make them aggro, that wont happen with CorSec.

So what youre saying Ronin and Hase, is that if i join the CorSec, i will function more or less excactly like being a Alliance pilot?!?
If that is true then that must be the way to go - Now all thats left for me to know is, since i picked up "Alliance pilot" to try it out - i completed 4-5 missions or so - do i just drop the pilot skills the same way i drop, lets say swordsman skills, and then contact the CorSec guy to join them?!?
